Akira D Olsen

Bilingual and Bicultural Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Akira D. Olsen is a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Founder/CEO of Journey Health, a digital mental health clinic dedicated to integrative, culturally responsive care. A 2024 Marquis Who’s Who Honoree, she is recognized for her contributions to youth and family mental health, trauma education, ADHD support, and cross-cultural psychological well-being.

Fluent in English and Japanese, Dr. Olsen creates a compassionate and inclusive space for individuals, families, and professionals navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, stress, and significant life transitions. Her therapeutic approach blends evidence-based modalities–CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, IFS, somatic psychotherapy, dynamic therapy, mindfulness, and transpersonal coaching–with Eastern holistic Body-Mind perspectives rooted in her upbringing in Tokyo, where she studied art and Japanese fencing (kendo).

With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Olsen has served in community mental health, medical institutions, schools, women’s centers, and university counseling programs. She has supported clients across the business, tech, creative, and entertainment industries. From 2018 to 2022, she worked as a clinical psychologist at Stanford Medicine and taught and supervised clinicians at Palo Alto University and the Stanford PGSP Consortium. She also served as a Board Member and Diversity Chair for the San Mateo County Psychological Association.

She is a published author and global mental health educator whose work–featured on platforms such as iHeartRadio and Fox News–reaches audiences seeking healing, clarity, and meaningful personal growth.
