  • Jakob Ulcnik, Founder, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Jakob Ulcnik, the founder of Train To Mountain, who turned the science of training into a personalised mountain-ready system for everyday mountaineers. He is a Slovenian alpinist based in Amsterdam, and he built the product out of his own frustration rather than a business plan.   It started on a 3,800m (12,500 ft) peak. Jakob arrived fit, VO2Max in the fifties and long hours of preparation, and it still was not enough. So he went looking for a real plan. He found plenty: training guides on YouTube, PDFs, Instagram posts, long articles. None of them fit an actual life. They assumed he would never work late, never get sick, never pick up an injury, and that his fatigue would build at exactly the rate the plan predicted. When asked AI for help, it just told him he was doing great.   He ended up stitching sources together and still could not answer the one question that mattered: was he ready?   Train To Mountain is his answer to that question. It is a personalised training system for people heading to altitude, built on established training-science models, including the fitness-fatigue model, plus a proprietary model developed in-house.   Instead of handing over a fixed plan, it adapts week to week to the person following it, so training bends around real life instead of breaking against it. The goal is simple: show up on the mountain knowing you are prepared, not hoping you are.   Jakob writes about training, mountaineering, and building products for real people. To see who Train To Mountain is for, visit traintomountain.com/who-its-for.html. Jakob Ulcnik Executive Contributor Founder Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. • Linda Schneider, Independent Mentor for Conscious Human Development, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Linda Schneider is a Curandera and Independent Mentor for Conscious Human Development with more than twenty years of experience guiding people through profound personal change. Her work is grounded, precise, and results-oriented, supporting clients in reconnecting with themselves and strengthening inner authority. She guides people in creating lives aligned with their core values and lived truth. Linda specializes in working through unconscious patterns, internal conflicts, and self-destructive behaviors that limit clarity, vitality, and fulfillment. With a strong focus on empowerment, her work supports a return to inner orientation, where self-trust and conscious choice replace dependency on external authority. Rooted in her Slavic lineage and inspired by her grandmother, who worked as a medicine woman, Linda’s path has evolved through years of direct experience, observation, and ongoing personal and professional development in diverse cultural contexts. These experiences inform her work in a grounded, integrated way, without idealization or spiritual romanticism. Drawing on professional training in Physiotherapy, Kinesiology and healing modalities, as well a degree in raw plant-based nutrition, she weaves deep experiential knowledge with practical, embodied methodologies. Her approach emphasizes integration, sustainability, and real-life application over peak experiences or spiritual bypassing. Linda is also a seasoned public speaker, equally at home with intimate groups, and larger audiences. She is known for creating spaces that feel personal, inclusive, and deeply human. Rather than positioning herself above others, she meets people where they are, fostering genuine connection, mutual respect, and presence. At the heart of her work is a strong commitment to integrity, personal sovereignty, and psychological and emotional maturity. Linda actively raises awareness around spiritual abuse and unhealthy power dynamics, supporting the restoration of self-trust and inner discernment. She is currently writing a book on this subject, aimed at breaking silence, supporting survivors, and strengthening prevention. Through her private work, public teaching, and educational offerings, including her online program The Seven Keys – Foundations for Fulfilled Living, Linda supports people in integrating shadow and strength, reclaiming authorship of their lives, and living with clarity grounded in self-trust. • Harriet Bodö, Executive Coach & Mentor, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Harriet Bodö is the founder of Coach Me & More, a Finland-based coaching and leadership development practice working with leaders, leadership teams and boards across the Nordic region. She holds a Master's degree in Economics from Hanken School of Economics and is an ICF-certified executive coach (ACC). Today she has 700 hours of coaching experience and has been coach and mentor to more than 200 leaders. Her path into coaching started long before she called herself a coach. As Head of Department, Harriet had the benefit of both a coach and a mentor of her own — and experienced firsthand what a difference that support makes for leaders, who are often left to carry decisions alone. In 2018, she took the step into the unknown and became self-employed in exactly what she had benefited from most: helping people, teams and organizations grow. That decision grew out of an agile background, a coaching leadership style, and a business mindset built on one conviction: business is best driven by both heart and brain. The same curiosity and business drive that shape her coaching also show up in her board and advisory board work, and in her wish to keep developing — personally, and organizationally. She is a certified board member (HHJ), and also speaks regularly as a keynote speaker on leadership, transformation and psychological safety, in Swedish, Finnish and English. As organizations adjust to hybrid work, AI transformation, the gig economy and constant change, Harriet helps leadership teams and boards build the direction and mandate for transformation. But the real work, she is clear, happens with middle managers — the people who translate strategy into daily practice. She sums up her own approach to setbacks with a simple principle: either I win, or I learn. Based in Vasa, Finland, after seventeen years on Åland, Harriet works with clients across the Nordics — in person, and in whichever language the room needs. • Christine Hall, Life, Health & Wellness Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Early Life and Personal Loss   Christine Hall's journey is a testament to resilience, perseverance, and the transformative power of a positive mindset. Born into a loving family, Christine experienced profound losses early in life. At just 13 years old, her mother succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 47. This devastating loss was followed by the tragic death of her brother to suicide and the sudden passing of her father due to a stroke. These profound personal tragedies deeply impacted Christine, shaping her perspective on life and the importance of health and well-being.   Career as a Flight Attendant and Love for Travel   Despite these early hardships, Christine found solace and adventure in the skies. She embarked on a 19-year career as a Flight Attendant, a role that allowed her to explore the world and immerse herself in diverse cultures. Travel became a significant part of her identity, bringing joy and a sense of freedom that counterbalanced her earlier experiences of loss.   Embracing a Healthy Lifestyle   Christine's journey towards health and fitness began after the birth of her daughter. Once an overweight child, she decided to transform her life by embracing running. This new passion not only improved her physical health but also became a crucial outlet for her mental well-being. Running led Christine to achieve remarkable feats, including completing ten full marathons, participating in a triathlon, and engaging in long-distance cycling events. Her personal transformation inspired her to help others, leading her to become a certified personal trainer.   Empowering Women through Fitness   Since 2011, Christine has dedicated herself to empowering women through a holistic approach to fitness. She has worked with thousands of women, emphasizing the importance of exercise for both mental and physical health, without resorting to diets and deprivation. Her philosophy centers on sustainable, enjoyable fitness routines that enhance overall well-being.   Founding Thrive Movement Studio   In 2016, Christine realized a dream by opening Thrive Movement Studio, a boutique fitness studio. Under her leadership, the studio has consistently earned top local awards for eight consecutive years. Thrive Movement Studio became a beacon of community support and empowerment, fostering a positive environment where women could thrive.   Overcoming Adversity and Continued Success   Christine's journey has not been without challenges. In February 2022, she experienced a serious ski accident that resulted in the rupture of both Achilles tendons, rendering her non-weight bearing and confined to a wheelchair for months. Despite this setback, Christine's determination and resilience shone through. She committed herself to a full recovery, learning how to walk again and eventually returning to running, skiing, and biking.   Expanding Her Impact   Christine's passion for helping others extended beyond physical fitness. In 2014, she became a certified life coach, and in 2023, she achieved board certification as a health coach. That same year, she launched Christine Hall Coaching, focusing on helping women over 40 prioritize their health and happiness. Christine Hall Life, Health & Wellness Coach Early Life and Personal Loss Christine Hall's journey is a testament to resilience, perseverance, and the transformative power of a positive mindset. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes self-care and the importance of living a fulfilling life. Bernadett's journey in the realm of women's health began with a deep interest in social sciences and women’s history. After completing her BA studies in Hungary, she relocated to the UK in 2009. Delving into the world of childbirth, she became a Doula in 2011, and in 2013 she embarked on further studies at UWE to become a midwife. Recognising the limitations of institutional healthcare, Bernadett took a bold leap, transitioning to develop her private practice. She dedicated two years to crafting her antenatal education program, culminating in the launch of her business in 2019, originally named "The Science of Birth". Bernadett has supported numerous families, aiding them in achieving their ideal birth experiences. Continuously expanding her expertise, she acquired further qualifications as a Hypnobirthing practitioner in 2016, a legal diploma in 2022, and became a Biomechanics for Birth practitioner in 2023. In 2022, following a natural evolution, she rebranded her enterprise to the “Womanly Art of Birth”. Her innovative program encompasses: Antenatal education for informed decision-making, parenting skills and motherhood transformations; Hypnobirthing techniques for confident and calm birth experiences; Biomechanics techniques to optimise physiological labour and birth; Belly dance, the ancient art of childbirth; Advocacy for birth rights; Complete and ongoing Doula support. She believes in approaching the perinatal period from a bio-psycho-socio-environmental and spiritual angle. She works in a trauma-informed way and has a special focus on helping women overcome previous birth traumas. Bernadett asserts that a key element in attaining an empowering birth experience is owning the right "birth toolkit." • Jessica Kirkland, Health Life Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

From the Hamster Wheel to Self-Empowerment I was successful—or at least, that’s how it looked from the outside. My days were packed, my mind always one step ahead. I functioned, completed tasks, achieved goals. But one day, I asked myself a simple question: “Is this really all there is?” I am 53 years young and grew up in Germany, where following a traditional path was the norm: If you don’t go to university, you get a solid vocational education. So, after earning my German Abitur with a focus on business and economics, I became an industrial management assistant—not out of passion, but because it was the logical choice. Then came the next life decision: marriage. I married young, and suddenly, my career path was influenced by external circumstances. “Why do you even want to work? Your husband is a naval aviation officer in the German Navy—you’re well taken care of.” I heard this over and over again. And over time, I began questioning myself: “Am I really living my own life?” “Am I happy—or just adapting?” “Why doesn’t success feel like freedom?” I kept going, but the feeling that there had to be more grew louder and louder. The Moment I Chose Myself: During our first stay in the U.S., I made a decision that changed my life. I started training as a health & fitness coach. For the first time, I wasn’t following a role that had been given to me—I was creating my own. Back in Germany, I worked as a coach. I loved it. But then something happened that I hadn’t expected: My success grew—but my energy levels dropped. I found myself stuck again—this time in my own system. I had freed myself, yet I was trapped in the pressure of constantly achieving more. One night, I found myself sitting in front of my laptop—completely drained, yet unable to stop. It was past midnight, and I was still working on a new program, answering messages, optimizing details. My body screamed for rest, but my mind kept telling me, “Just a little more. You have to keep going.” I ignored the exhaustion, thinking that pushing harder was the only way to succeed. Then came the moment that changed everything. I was sitting on a plane, listening to the safety instructions: “Put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others.” And it hit me like a bolt of lightning. I had once again forgotten to put myself first. I had freed myself—only to land in a new hamster wheel. So I Changed Everything: I developed routines that truly served ME. I learned to manage my energy instead of letting my daily life control me. I recognized the early warning signs of exhaustion—and knew how to stop them. And Then, Something Incredible Happened: The joy in my work returned. I felt clear, focused, and full of energy. I was successful—without losing myself in the process. YOU! Empowered Collective – Because Success Should Feel Good Today, I know: Success means nothing if you lose your energy, your health, and your life along the way. That’s why I founded YOU! Empowered Collective—a community for entrepreneurs and high-performers who have realized that working harder is not the solution. Success can be easy—when you stay true to yourself. Self-empowered action is the key to focus, energy & clarity. Growth never stops—but you decide how you want to grow. “The peak of one mountain is just the beginning of the next.” Everything you do, you should first do for yourself—because without self-care, success is only temporary.
