- Cecilia Dinorah Lapolli, Terra Health Coaching, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Cecilia’s passion for health began early, growing up in a Latin American immigrant family where food was a central expression of love. However, like many, she saw how ultra-processed foods led to unhealthy lifestyle shifts, driving her to make intentional choices to prevent chronic conditions like Type 2 diabetes and obesity. Her perspective deepened while living in Brazil, where she faced personal health challenges and embraced a slower, more mindful approach to wellness. Applying her background in public health and nutrition, she transformed her own health through simple yet powerful habits: movement, meditation, whole foods, and stress reduction. This journey ignited her commitment to health coaching. Cecilia later pursued an MBA in Spain, determined to build a business that merged her passion for lifestyle medicine with impactful patient care. That vision led her to partner with John Dieser, founder and CEO of Terra Health Coaching, to integrate health coaching into the Direct Primary Care model. Together, they bridge the gap between doctors' offices and patient homes, empowering individuals to create lasting change. Every patient success story reaffirms Cecilia’s belief in the power of health coaching—meeting people where they are, honoring their unique journey, and helping them realize their highest wellness potential. This is the mission of Terra Health Coaching, transforming lives through sustainable, patient-centered care. - Jenna McDonough, Emotional Regulation Specialist , Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Jenna McDonough is a meditation and mindfulness teacher, children’s book author, emotional regulation specialist, sound healer, and Reiki Master dedicated to helping people of all ages live more peaceful, present, and heart-centered lives. She works with adults and children to recognize, understand, and move through their emotions using tools such as meditation, mindfulness activities, somatic resets, breathwork, and sound and energy healing. Known for her trauma-sensitive approach, Jenna ensures that every product, service, and session she offers supports healing in a safe, accessible way, helping individuals move forward without the fear of triggering a trauma response. Believing that emotional regulation is the foundation for a kinder world, her mission is simple yet powerful: to make the world a nicer and more compassionate place, one meditation at a time. With a lifelong devotion to children’s well-being, Jenna has spent her entire adult life in service to young people, as a nanny, elementary school teacher, ESE teacher, tutor, and parent. Through these experiences, she witnessed firsthand how heavily education focuses on academics like reading, writing, and math, while often overlooking the essential skills of emotional awareness and regulation. Determined to bridge that gap, she began creating resources that meet children and families where they are–accessible, practical, and trauma-sensitive, designed to fit into daily life regardless of time, location, or circumstance. For adults, Jenna offers self-paced Meditation and Healing Arts courses, a meditation audio library via her app PEACEFUL: Mindful Moments for Every Age, as well as one-on-one support through her lifestyle design program. She also creates custom meditations tailored to individual needs and facilitates transformative healing sessions through meditation and sound baths, specializing in restoring balance and moving stuck energy in a safe, supportive environment. Each of these offerings reflects her commitment to making holistic healing and emotional well-being approachable, sustainable, and sensitive to the unique journeys of each person she works with. For children and caregivers, Jenna is the founder of PEACEFUL: Mindful Moments for Every Age, which includes Peaceful Kids, a first-of-its-kind emotional regulation resource designed to empower children aged 3-17. The app provides guided meditations, mindfulness activities, breathwork, somatic resets, and binaural beats to help kids navigate mornings, bedtimes, transitions, and every emotion in between. With age-specific, color-coded resources and caregiver support videos, Peaceful Kids ensures that children can safely and confidently integrate emotional regulation practices at their own developmental level. Jenna’s passion for literacy, emotional well-being, and kindness inspired her debut children’s book, Kind Kids: The Adventures of Hurley, Pearl, and the Pink Soldiers of Kindness. Blending her teaching background and healing arts expertise, the book weaves storytelling with practical emotional regulation techniques and encourages children to spread kindness through her Soldiers for Kindness Initiative. Through her multifaceted work–as a healer, educator, author, and innovator–Jenna McDonough continues to provide transformative, trauma-sensitive tools that nurture emotional intelligence, resilience, and compassion. Her work stands as a testament to the belief that when people learn to regulate their emotions in safe and supportive ways, they not only improve their own lives but also help create a kinder, more peaceful world for everyone. - Ryan Campinho Valadas, Therapist, Educator & Trainer, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Ryan has always followed a path of wanting to understand and support people as best as he could and was driven by curiosity, passion, and creativity. This led to a Joint Honours Degree in Politics and Theatre Studies at the University of Glasgow in 2006, and it was alongside this dynamic degree that the seeds for a future career as a psychotherapist and public speaker would be planted. Working at a Scottish national charity to develop a project for the International Day Against Homophobia, Ryan engaged with groups of young people to create pieces of Forum Theatre (a type of socio-political theatre involving audience participation) which reflected their lived experiences as young LGBT people in Scotland. These pieces of theatre were performed and presented at conferences and events across Glasgow and Edinburgh between 2007-2010. Informed by these opportunities, Ryan pursued a MA in Dramatherapy at the University of Roehampton which was completed in 2015. During these years, his work revolved around delivering individual and group therapy sessions, as well as conducting research on intimacy in interpersonal relationships of gay men living with HIV. He was a Visiting Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and University of Derby on the subjects of addiction and LGBT-affirmative therapy between 2017-2020. Throughout his clinical career, Ryan was drawn to challenges around shame, sex, communication, and relationships, and this led to his training in Psychosexual & Relationships Therapy between 2021-2023. Between 2020-2026, Ryan helped to establish, develop, and grow a highly successful training department in a contemporary mental health company, which offered bespoke workshops, training, and leadership programmes to organisations around the world. He was responsible for the research, development, facilitation, and management of programmes and partnerships. Today, Ryan maintains a busy private practice focusing on psychosexual and relationships therapy within the queer community in central London; teaches on a Masters level diploma in pluralistic and psychosexual therapy; and continues to work within organisational wellbeing with partners based around the world. - Juna Ting-Wei Chang, Forest Therapy Guide, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Juna Ting-Wei Chang is a forest therapy guide, mentor, and the founder of Shinrin-Yoku Taiwan, a nature-based wellbeing platform dedicated to supporting individuals and communities in slowing down and returning their attention to themselves and the more-than-human world through forest therapy and Shinrin-yoku. She is the first Taiwanese guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and also holds the Taiwan Forest Therapist Certificate, serving as a mentor within Taiwan’s forest therapy system in collaboration with the Taiwan Forest Therapy Society. Her journey into forest therapy began in 2017 at a Girl Scouts seminar in Switzerland, where she first encountered the healing potential of nature. This experience, combined with witnessing loved ones navigate mental health challenges, inspired her to pursue professional training at a time when formal forest therapy education was not yet available in Taiwan. She later earned a Master’s degree in Landscape and Recreation Management, building on an undergraduate background in English and Spanish. Her academic research explored cyberbullying and sharing-economy models within Taiwan’s forest therapy industry, bridging wellbeing, innovation, and social systems. Having lived in the United States and Panama and travelled widely, Juna brings a global perspective grounded in local cultural understanding. Her work is rooted in ANFT Relational Forest Therapy, integrating scientific research, traditional ecological knowledge, and embodied experience. She works with individuals, organisations, and international groups, offering slow, immersive sessions — often in urban natural environments — that support sensory awareness, emotional regulation, stress reduction, and reflective integration. At the heart of Juna’s work is a gentle belief that healing cannot be forced. Forest therapy, in her view, is not a luxury or a trend, but an essential practice for cultivating mental health, emotional resilience, and sustainable wellbeing. Through her work, she hopes to contribute to healthier individuals, more caring communities, and more balanced systems by helping people remember a sense of closeness, care, and presence in everyday life.
