- Ana Postigo, Airline Pilot, Human Factors Writer & Speaker, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
She is a professional pilot, former Crew Resource Management (CRM) instructor, neurocoach, NLP practitioner, and children’s book author, with formal training in aircraft accident investigation. Her work sits at the intersection of aviation, neuroscience, psychology, and lived experience, exploring how humans perform, decide, and recover under pressure. Her career began in aviation, one of the most demanding performance environments in the world, where emotional regulation, situational awareness, and decision-making are critical. As a former CRM instructor, she trained flight crews to manage risk, communicate effectively, and navigate human limitations in high-stakes situations, developing deep expertise in human factors and performance reliability. A personal trauma became a defining turning point in her journey. Faced with adversity, she began an intensive study of the mind, resilience, and recovery, not as theory but as necessity. What started as survival evolved into a profound fascination with how humans adapt, rebuild, and grow after disruption. Her training in aircraft accident investigation reinforced a powerful insight: failure is rarely technical alone. More often, it is human, rooted in stress, cognitive overload, fear, and unchallenged assumptions. This understanding became the bridge between aviation and her work with leaders, organizations, and individuals across industries. She expanded her expertise into neurocoaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), combining neuroscience, behavioral psychology, and practical tools to help people build clarity, confidence, and resilience under pressure. Her approach is grounded, evidence-informed, and shaped by real-world, high-consequence environments. Her work has reached far beyond aviation. She has coached clients in countries such as Colombia, Malawi, and post-conflict Lebanon, witnessing firsthand how individuals recover, adapt, and lead despite instability and trauma. Through extensive travel, she became fascinated by how culture and environment shape belief systems, resilience, and the way humans respond to pressure. Across borders and backgrounds, one truth remained consistent: the human capacity to recover is far greater than we are taught to believe. Committed to shaping future generations, she mentors aspiring female pilots through ISA+21, supporting young women entering high-performance, male-dominated fields. Her mentoring emphasizes self-trust, emotional intelligence, and confidence grounded in competence rather than perfection. She is also a children’s book author, using storytelling to introduce resilience, courage, and self-belief early in life. She believes that resilience is not only a leadership skill but a life skill, and that the foundations of confidence are often built long before adulthood. As a speaker, she translates lessons from aviation, trauma recovery, neuroscience, and global coaching into compelling insights for organizations and audiences navigating uncertainty, pressure, and change. Blending science with storytelling and vulnerability with authority, her talks challenge conventional ideas of performance and invite a deeper understanding of human potential. Her message is clear: pressure is inevitable, but breakdown is not. Resilience is a trainable skill. When people understand how they function under stress, they gain the ability to respond with clarity, courage, and purpose — especially when it matters most. Hi! Its an honor for me to welcome you to my page. I´ve always been a curios kid, wondering about how and why everything works the way it does. From science, to human behavior, animals, plants...and everything in between. No wonder why I ended up studying psychology and specializing in neuroscience. As a neurodivergent person who struggled her way all through school and college I want to teach people that their true potential is inside them and we all have little tricks to hack our way into our brain. I believe body, mind and soul are inseparable and we have to learn about all of them in order to truly recognize and show our best self. I have the deepest love for animals and nature and my favorite place is wherever my horses and dogs are. Emilia Valdez Münchmeyer Executive Contributor Msc. - Sally Stevenson, Healing Practitioner, Teacher & Founder, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
There are times in life that are defining. A realization that every road travelled, every path taken has led to this very moment. This has become a reality of mine of late. It is an honour to become an executive contributor for Brainz magazine, and to be a part of such a wonderful community. As I look back over my life, my journey from high school to a career in Dentistry, and now a path of Holistic Healing, I feel amazed where life can lead you. It is a culmination of my years of experience, of working with people from all walks of life, and having a medical background has strengthened my healing abilities. I initially started training to become a qualified Dental Nurse in 1998 but quickly realized that a Dental Hygiene role was better suited for me. After further study in Dental Radiography and Human Biology, I was accepted at Newcastle University, in the United Kingdom and qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2007. I always knew that I wanted to work with people. I wanted to help others in a medical environment, and I loved every second of studying human anatomy and physiology. It fascinated me and I am still in awe at how our amazing bodies work. After becoming a mother in 2014, and what can only be described as a transformative spiritual experience, my curiosity heightened to learn and understand the spiritual aspects of ourselves. I was becoming very aware that we are so much more than a physical being, the love for understanding the human body, extended to a new love of understanding energy, the unseen, and what we hold and carry around with us every single day. I became a healing practitioner in 2016 and a teacher in 2018. In 2019 my healing skills developed on their own and I have now created new healing techniques that others can learn and enhance their skills. With many levels of healing, and stages of the practitioner’s development Angelic Heart Academy of Holistic Healing was born. You do not need a medical background to learn at the academy, however as you progress an understanding of human anatomy and physiology is very helpful. With six levels of expertise, learning more complex techniques as you go, a healing practitioner is a great way to building a professional business of your own, bringing with it a sense of pride and achievement. The techniques are all aimed at balancing our auric (energy) field and releasing and removing dense energies that we all need to let go of as part of our collective healing and evolution. Our experiences shape us and it often changes life’s trajectory unexpectedly, as I personally found after a painful period of grief in 2022. I found myself at a crisis point of self-identity, grief and complete unknown territory, from losing both of my beloved parents within a 3-month period. It was the hardest time and experience that has changed me forever. I was very blessed to have a wonderful sister by my side, that endured the same pain as me and a bond of grief was forged, that only siblings understand. The strength of a loving husband and children that bring joy and love to me every day, saw me through the darkness and back to the light. The knowledge that I have gained from my experience has become a part of my drive and determination, to help people heal and to support families that have gone through or are going through something similar. You are not alone. There is so much that is happening in our ever-changing world, and we need healing modalities now more than ever and I feel there is no coincidence that my journey and experiences in life, have led me here. After a lot of dedication, I received recognition for my healing work and was named Holistic Business Innovator of the year 2025 and Most Innovative Holistic Healing Academy 2025 by SME news. However she was separated from her kids over the last 3 years due to her mental disorder issue - Being Bipolar and suffered for over 10 years. Sharing an unstable environment where everyone walks on eggshells due to her extreme mood swings, mind medication and on and off psychosis was not healthy for them. It also takes a toll of the caretaker who is not equipped to handle mental instability as NO ONE talks about it or completely ignores it. She made it her personal goal to get back to a life where she is now meds free and has taken complete responsibility over her health. She personally believes that she was made to go through a tough life with her mental journey in order to be a voice to the hidden, silent and suffering souls who are afraid to share their pain and mental suffering of depression, anxiety, paranoia, trauma etc. She took up neuroscience lessons and launched her brain health online coaching www.whatboutme.com . She challenged her learnings on neuro plasticity and up bike rider lessons, secured her UAE bike license and got her first ever bike. This proved to her that rewiring of her brain was possible and she is back to make a difference to her own life, inspire others and show my daughters, nothing is impossible to those who dream with the right intentions. "I don’t have awards or certificates to showcase my strength but I am now meds free and will continue to enforce importance of brain health till the end of my time. Faith Love and Hope were my pillars along with Wisdom to make each day count! If I can, so can you ☺️ " says Roweena. - Virginia Hurdon, Virginia Hurdon Health Coaching, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Dr. Virginia Hurdon is uniquely positioned to understand and work with health care professionals looking to thrive. Several years ago, she became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and an International Coaching Federation certified coach, to do just that. Virginia’s own thriving was years in the making. She practiced as a home palliative care physician for many years, seeking to optimize the quality of life of patients and their families at that crucial time. When she was overtaken by her own health crisis, it became evident that Virginia needed to learn a lot more about well-being than she had previously realized. With persistent effort, she grew to thrive in a healthy, sustainable way. Sharing the insights she learned (and continues to learn), and coaching others to thrive in their own way became a natural next step. Virginia guides clients to develop and achieve their own unique solutions on the path to improved wellbeing, work performance, and quality of life. Dr. Hurdon has been featured on Close Up Radio, been a guest speaker for WomenIN, trained physicians in stress-reducing breathing techniques, and taught college students to enhance wellbeing with mind-body practices. - Jelle van der Tas, Founder, AIVAS, Conversational AI Solutions, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Through continuous learning, I have developed expertise in artificial intelligence, product strategy, and building companies from zero. This journey has shaped who I am today and led me to where I am now. I grew up in the Netherlands with one clear ambition: to build something that could change the world. For many years, I tried to make it on my own. I started several ventures, learned through failure, and climbed the corporate ladder. Yet, the rat race never fulfilled me. As an entrepreneur at heart, I wanted to create something meaningful that could make a real difference. When I discovered generative AI, everything changed. I realised I could finally bring my ideas to life: quickly, independently, and at scale. So, I took a leap of faith: I quit my job, left my country, and moved to Singapore to pursue my vision. That decision led to the creation of AIVAS, in partnership with Sky Ventures Capital. AIVAS is building AIM: the AI Interaction Model. A foundation layer for AI that understands, feels, and responds like a human. The problem we solve is simple but massive. AI is entering the physical world: food courts, airports, hospitals, hotels, retail stores. But today's AI falls apart the moment environments become unpredictable. It can't tell who is speaking to it. It can't sense frustration or confusion. It has no memory of who you are. The result is billions invested in AI hardware that delivers frustrating, robotic experiences. We are changing that. AIVAS combines visual intent detection, voice intelligence, and emotional awareness into one system that makes AI interactions genuinely natural. Our technology knows who is engaging, filters out the noise, understands tone and emotion, and remembers context across conversations. It works in 40+ languages, including the code-switching reality of Asia: Singlish, Hinglish, Taglish, and beyond. We started with kiosks and terminals, deploying through distribution partners across thousands of touchpoints in APAC. But kiosks are just the beginning. AIM is designed to power any device that needs to interact with humans naturally: robots, vehicles, companions, healthcare systems, enterprise tools. One model, endlessly configurable, trained on real-world interactions that no lab can replicate. The long-term vision is an AI companion that is truly personal. Not a chatbot. An AI that understands you, helps you professionally, and becomes a genuine part of your daily life. Available to everyone, with privacy as a choice, not a luxury. We are backed by Sky Ventures Capital and supported by NVIDIA, Google Cloud, and AWS. Headquartered in Singapore: the most multilingual country in APAC and the perfect proving ground for AI that speaks the world's languages. I lead with clarity, accountability, and a bias for action. My passion is building AI that works where people actually are: noisy, messy, multilingual, real. Outside of work, I focus on personal growth through reading, structured learning, walking, working out, and journaling. These habits keep me grounded, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.
