Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

I walked out of the abortion clinic at 21 years old, still in a haze from the anesthesia I had received. As I stepped outside, my partner at the time, who is now my ex for various reasons, met me at the door. I got into his car, and the first thing he said to me was, “My friend is coming over, and we’re going to smoke cannabis.” I sat there, frozen, barely able to respond. I was shocked that after just undergoing the procedure I did, his focus was to get high.

In the days that followed, he never brought up the abortion again. He didn’t ask how I was feeling or offer me any support. I spent the next year numbing my emotions with alcohol and cannabis until I turned 22 and recognized that I needed to reconnect with myself. I was tired of holding onto this emotional trauma and frustrated by the painful periods that had plagued me since my early teens.

That was when I began to connect with my womb, heal the emotional pain of the abortion, and use natural remedies and lifestyle changes to restore my hormonal balance. A year later, at 23, I enrolled in nutrition school to become a health coach, determined to make it my mission to help other women.

What drives/inspires you?

Nature inspires me deeply. When you observe it closely, you’ll see it is resilient, wise, and continually going through different phases. Nature doesn’t question its existence; it simply functions as it was meant to. This inspires me because, as humans, we often doubt our abilities and potential, feeling as though we aren’t good enough.

What is your work inspired by?

Most of my work is inspired by nature. I teach menstrual cycle awareness, which involves tuning into the wisdom of the menstrual cycle. Like the Earth, each phase of the menstrual cycle corresponds to a season. This inspires me to teach other women how to live in alignment with their cyclical nature rather than adhering to the linear approach society has programmed us to follow.

Is there a core value that you are most passionate about?

I have three core values:

The first is womb wisdom. The womb is looked at as the second heart and a major creative center in the body. It serves as the seat of your expression and holds the seeds of your greatest dreams.

The second is vocal activation. Your voice enables you to speak your truth, express yourself, and become the powerful instrument of healing that you are.

The third is menstrual health. Your menstrual cycle is responsible for producing hormones that the entire body needs for overall function. To maintain a healthy and balanced cycle, herbal remedies, integrative nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits are crucial.

What is your business name, and how do you help your clients?

My business is Embracing Cycles LLC. I empower my clients to understand their menstrual cycles and hormones through education, nutrition, lifestyle coaching, and spiritual guidance.

What sets Embracing Cycles apart from other services in the industry?

Embracing Cycles is founded on indigenous wisdom. The principles I teach are not new; they draw from the ways our ancestors connected with their bodies. As a woman of color with indigenous Taino roots, I believe we need greater representation in the wellness industry. I advocate for a "simplicity is medicine" approach, encouraging people to focus on fundamental practices.

What would you like to achieve for yourself and your business in the future?

In the future, I would love to provide course materials to public schools to ensure that menstrual health education is taught to young teens. What we learned in health class didn't adequately prepare us for understanding our menstrual cycles and how we could use them as a guide for our well-being.

Could you share some success stories from your clients?

In my one-on-one coaching work, I have helped women with PCOS who were struggling with irregular cycles restore their periods with ease. For clients experiencing painful periods, we have successfully reduced their pain from a level of 10 down to a level of 1-2 while also improving their energy, mental clarity, sleep quality, and reducing PMS symptoms. Additionally, we have made heavy menstrual flows much lighter. I use the term “we” because my clients also have to make the necessary changes.

In my vocal activation sessions, I have witnessed women leave with greater confidence in their self-expression, enabling them to fully embrace their power and achieve their long-held dreams.

Overall, my goal has been to empower women and those with wombs.

Ultimately, I didn’t “heal” these women; I simply guided them back to themselves, where they did the essential work.
