The entrepreneurial journey often begins with a clear vision, yet the relentless pursuit of quantitative results can trap us in a cycle of multitasking and overwhelm. Why do we fall into this haze, and how can we release such stresses and cultivate gratitude and self-care instead, truly tuning into our present state?

As the founder of a newly opened jewelry store and e-commerce business, I’ve grappled with this query. I realize that revising and reconnecting with one's inner force is crucial for every self-led business owner, since the temptation for visible and quantitative results makes us grind in sometimes scattered and unnecessary ways. I attempt to outline a reminder of how we stay upfront with our own paths and to share insights on how to escape the pitfall of excessive work while founding our business careers.

Rewinding the track

While financial success and market share are important, the initial “why” behind our entrepreneurship often encompasses more personal and intrinsic values. Those values may easily fall short along the journey, since the urge for revenue does make its point. But research suggests that multitasking in a manner of ‘knowing it all’ leads to mental fatigue and, for some, even to burnout, creating a turmoil of barriers to reaching the success they initially envisioned.

Rewinding and taking a closer look at our whys is pivotal in this cohesion. It provides clarity and helps us align our current actions with our foundational goals, thus promoting enhanced decision-making. For my part, it wasn’t about selling or making big revenues that led me to enter entrepreneurship, but about realigning with my inner forces and embracing and radiating the energy I uphold, on a physical, material level as well as on a spiritual one.

As I always encountered a greater meaning behind the first, shiny sight of a piece of jewelry, I came to understand that jewelry had spoken to me since childhood. It is a form of self-expression, and with that said, a storytelling object, one through which I could often find a greater, more subtle meaning. I learned to stand by my expressions of those objects, even in times of standing alone. Because I would rather stand alone than live on autopilot, without a solid foundation for what my expressions stood for.

Relating this to my current state, I’ve come to see that the why behind our businesses is pivotal to reconnect with when things are not happening overnight.

Understanding that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be

Reconnecting with my long-standing childhood reflections made me realize that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be, in every given moment and in every step of progress I make. And that leaves me with nothing but gratitude. Because the act of reconnecting ourselves to our whys and inner forces helps us more easily realize and acknowledge our unique expertise.

Visualizing my life on a timeline, in which I pinpointed my unwritten self and my written self, i.e., from where I came to where I am going, not only made me realize that it is my task to fulfill the written version of me and to meet the best version of myself somewhere on that line, but it also made me realize that it is unique. My timeline is unique, and my doings are unique. No revenue or competition can take that away.

Understanding excessive work as a shattered reality

The lack of acknowledgment of our present state leads to a fragmented mind. It makes us more easily sidetracked by opportunities that consume our time or don’t serve our core objectives, or, in worst-case scenarios, even leads us into a darkness of negative self-talk, insecurities, and shattered dreams, thus making it less likely for others to acknowledge our work and competence.

When permitting our entrepreneurship to start from within, we circumvent such obstacles. By cultivating a focused, clear, and aligned inner state, in which we understand the context that upholds us, we can create an outer reality where we are less likely to be swayed by fleeting distractions and more likely to achieve meaningful progress on our chosen path.

Not only will we find it easier to break down our daily tasks, but we also create a stronger internal gravity that makes the world outside of us curious about our doings. This comprehension, echoed in the Law of Correspondence, has been crucial to me. Once revealed, it opened me up to stages of gratitude and thankfulness, natural stages I seek to practice continuously.

Understanding when it's time to cut the cord

The meditation on our initial whys and the practice of gratitude are necessary in every given moment. It is not a one-time request but rather a dynamic, ongoing, and organic process that stems from within.

This continuous practice of gratitude not only keeps us grounded but also provides the clarity to recognize when our path or strategies need to evolve. Because, as much as we evolve, our initial why does.

Personal goals, values, and circumstances may change, and our why needs to adapt accordingly. As our businesses develop, new passions are discovered, deeper meanings emerge, and impacts change. Regularly checking in with our whys allows us to acknowledge and integrate these motivations and to operate from within.

Aligning with and standing in my true self

I cannot stress enough how our personal whys align with our inner forces. Aligning with our paths and thriving from within creates a radiated authenticity that allows us to be who we are destined to be.

That's another height of frequency that I had to come to terms with before opening my jewelry store. Running a business within e-commerce constantly exposes me to fears of missing out and fears of not generating proper sales. Competing in such a flourishing niche would have made me withdraw already if I hadn’t revised my inner state, which led me to such a bold decision to enter that business.

Many are withdrawing along the way, as if they lack the recognition of their paths. Humbly, I realize I thrive in my authenticity, and that makes me innovate even more.

Because reconnecting with my inner force requires no pretense or effort to fit in. Instead, it makes me more likely to stand out in the best possible ways. Staying conscious of my physical, emotional, and mental needs and making choices that support my passion and well-being visualizes my path like a spreading sheet, and on such terms, there is nothing more than abundance.
