Two Launches, One Voice – A Mental Health Podcast and a Dark Folk Single From Toren

Toren, executive contributor to Brainz Magazine and Nottingham-based writer and musician, announces two simultaneous creative launches this spring. Not Fixed, Still Here, a science-meets-lived-experience mental health podcast, releases its debut episode on Friday, 8 May 2026. Gilded Nerve, Toren's dark folk and Americana project, released its debut single Ceiling's Heavy Hands Unsteady on 25 April 2026 via Ditto Music, available now on all major streaming platforms.

Not Fixed, Still Here bridges clinical research with personal narrative. Drawing on Toren's background in psychology, CBT, DBT, NLP, and biochemistry, the show is built on a clear editorial premise: honesty over reassurance, specificity over universality, presence over resolution. Toren positions themselves as a lived-experience host rather than a clinician, a distinction held with intention throughout. Established safe messaging guidelines are integrated across every episode. The trailer is live now on Buzzsprout.
Gilded Nerve occupies an adjacent but distinct space. Ceiling's Heavy Hands Unsteady moves through the same interior territory the podcast explores aloud, rendered through atmospheric folk and understated Americana production. Both projects share a visual language: deep shadow, warm amber, and an unwillingness to smooth over difficulty. Two forms. One source. Follow on Instagram, and stream the single on Spotify now.
