The Courage to Create in the AI Era

Adeline is making a name for herself in event production and media. She's the founder of AD MGMT, a company she launched two years ago, and she's built a unique path for herself that many told her wouldn't be possible. Her journey is a true testament to resilience, smart risk-taking, and a strong belief that everything is possible.

This article is written by a woman still trying to figure out how to navigate creativity, leadership, and innovation in industries still dominated by men. And for me, creating AD MGMT in this era and this position feels like a blessing because my unique perspective and imperfections are now my brand, my strength, my language. Taking a moment to look back, I'm happy I was courageous enough not to fit in, so I can now use my differences as an infinite prompts library and monetize them.

This article is not just about AI.

Colorful bubbles on black background with text: "Creativity takes Courage." Soft pink and blue hues create a dreamy, inspiring mood.

It’s about courage: the courage to create authentically in an age of automation and oversaturation.

The oversaturation mentioned here is about every platform being flooded with similar trends, recycled aesthetics, and algorithm-optimized content, which often makes it feel like everyone is doing the same thing. Original voices risk being lost in the noise, making the pursuit of authentic expression (and happiness) more difficult but more essential.

Sound, soul, and the algorithm

As a producer of intimate, human-centered music events, I work closely with artists who pour their souls and identity into it; as you can imagine, it is very vulnerable.

Lately, that soulfulness is being challenged by a new player: AI. From music composition tools to generative visuals, AI can now mimic style, mood, and even genre. What it can't replicate, however, is the lived experience of being human.

Musicians tell me they feel overwhelmed. Some are fascinated by AI’s potential to spark ideas. Others feel diminished by the constant stream of algorithmic content that seems to drown out their originality & needs.

In curating events, I’ve noticed a shift: audiences crave authenticity. They respond to artists who dare to bring their unfiltered selves onstage. In this sense, the AI tsunami is paradoxically making human imperfection more valuable than ever. It takes courage to keep creating when machines can mimic beauty, but cannot feel it. This is where the courage to be imperfect comes in, and why I believe it's the strength we need to focus on.

Tech-driven worlds and gender gaps

Parallel to my work in music, I stepped into the world of Agile leadership, learning the art of being a Scrum Master at an AI agency awarded "Agency of the Year." Here, the tempo is different: faster, more technical, intensely results-driven. And once again, I easily find myself in a room where I am one of the only women.

Much like the artists I work with, I often battle impostor syndrome. There are days I ask myself, "Do I belong here?" But creativity, I’ve learned, is about how we solve problems, build teams, and lead with empathy.

In both music and tech, courage is not just in expression, but in presence.

In these rooms, my difference becomes my strength. My background in creative production gives me an edge in empathic communication and adaptive planning. I bring a human tempo into tech sprints. That is innovation too, and it’s how my unique position and story become my valuable contribution.

Saturation vs. Substance

We are living through a paradox: never before have we had so many tools to create, yet so many creators feel frozen. Oversaturation is real. Scrolling through a feed filled with AI-generated visuals and perfectly engineered soundtracks can make even the boldest artist question their place.

But here’s the truth: volume doesn’t equal value. In my work, whether in producing a 5K+ festival or facilitating a Developers team, I’ve learned that curation matters more than creation. What we choose to amplify is an act of courage and curation. The human choice of what to spotlight and how goes a long way. This reinforces my belief that a unique perspective and flaws are precisely what give value, connection.

Choosing courage over perfection

Creativity is messy, emotional, and full of doubt. AI doesn’t experience that. But we do. And that vulnerability is not a weakness, it’s a compass. It tells us when we’re on the edge of something meaningful.

To the artists, women in tech, and hybrid creators reading this: your courage to create with and despite AI is your superpower. It takes courage to be imperfect, and right now that imperfection has immense value in the AI era. Use the tools, yes. But don’t kill the vision.

This era needs you.

Your voice. Your insight. Your story. And that, AI will never automate.

If my story resonated with you, I'd be happy to hear yours and explore how we can be courageous together in this evolving landscape.
