Happiness is the underlying foundation that affects the quality of life.

Before you can truly be happy, you need to think about what happiness means to you. What it means to you can be very different from what it means to someone else. Then you can work on better time management, communication, and making changes that will help you be happy. Perceptions can keep you from being happy. It's not possible to be happy all the time, but if you can be happy most of the time, it will help you overcome the most difficult times in your life. Your general outlook on life is an important factor when it comes to your happiness.

You may say that it is not much you can do for the miserable people around you. However, you also must not let their negativity drag you down to their level. You don't have to own the best car or the biggest house in the neighborhood. Defining your life based on material goods can get in the way of true happiness. The quality of your relationships with family, friends, and co-workers also affects your happiness. It has been found that people who are happy tend to perform better in most areas of their lives. They get sick less often. They tend to worry less and do better at work because their boss sees that they enjoy being there.

You can make changes in your life that will increase your happiness. It doesn't matter where you live, how much money you make, or how old you are. It's never too late to feel happy and truly enjoy life by taking simple actions such as:

Be Optimistic. Take a look at how you react to things. If you feel like you have a negative attitude towards them, change it. Focus on being optimistic about making yourself feel happy. Over time, it becomes a big part of who you are and your guardian of life.

Count Your Blessings. Take a moment each morning to add up the little things that will bring you joy that day. Maybe you can meet someone new for a date night. Maybe enjoy lunch with an old friend. At night before you go to bed, think about the big and small things that made your day so good. It's the little things in life that really make you happy!

Be grateful. If your mindset allows you to be thankful, then you can get through the difficult times. You will also be happy because you will recognize the satisfaction that comes from the simple things in your life.

Visualize. If you close your eyes, you can spend some time imagining what it takes to make you happy. When you imagine what you really want, you can help make it happen. Are you happy? What makes you happy? That's what you should focus on. It could be where you are or who you are with that makes the difference to you.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes. We all make mistakes, so don't think you're the only one. If you don't take risks from time to time, you won't make mistakes. However, you will not achieve the level of happiness you desire either. You'll also end up with "what-if" regrets, and those are the kinds of things that can sap your happiness. This doesn't mean that you act recklessly and then ignore that a mistake was made. Give the best of yourself. It means you learn from your mistakes and keep your head up high. It also means you have the self-esteem to know you gave it you're all.

Be Kind. Smiling is one of the best ways to make you feel happier than you are right now. When you smile, others will smile back. They will see you as someone they can get close to. You will feel comfortable with it. To be kind is not hard, it's a choice. Also, do not forget to be kind to yourself. You must be comfortable with the person you see in the mirror and be your true self. Think of all the positive things that day went well for you at work, at home, and for others, a list that never seems to end.

Doors that open and close. Life may not always go according to plan. Always look for the good in every situation. No matter how terrible it may seem, there is always something to be happy about. When you look at things from this perspective, you become spiritually empowered. Whatever life throws at you, you will be able to overcome it. If you look at life from this perspective, you will also appreciate the good things when they happen in your life and be happy.
