TORONTO, ONTARIO – June 2026 – Canadian author, professional golfer, and Human Resource Business Partner Stacey Soans announces the publication of Fairways and Femininity: The Modern Woman's Guide to Golf, released on May 1, 2025. The book examines the evolving role of women within golf, exploring the sport through the lenses of culture, fashion, travel, community, and personal experience.

Open notebook with a pen lying on the pages, lit by warm sunlight, creating a calm writing mood.

Drawing upon her experiences in golf, business, and academia, Soans examines how women's participation in golf has changed over recent decades. Combining research, commentary, and industry insight, Fairways and Femininity explores the social, cultural, and professional dimensions of the modern women's golf experience.

"Golf has long been recognized as a sport rooted in tradition, yet the experiences and contributions of women within the game continue to evolve," said Soans. "This book examines not only participation in the sport, but also the culture, relationships, and opportunities that have developed alongside it."

Across seven chapters, Fairways and Femininity addresses topics relevant to both current and aspiring golfers. The book examines the rise of women's golf in the modern era, the evolution of women's golf fashion, notable golf destinations, and the role of golf in fostering networking, mentorship, and community. Additional chapters explore the camaraderie that develops through the game and the ways golf creates connections across generations, professions, and backgrounds.

The concluding chapter considers the interplay between competitive golf, professional careers, family responsibilities, and the broader demands placed upon women seeking long-term participation in sport.

A graduate of the University of Toronto with Honours in Political Science, Soans developed a foundation in scholarly research, critical analysis, academic writing, and evidence-based inquiry through rigorous university-level study. Her academic training emphasized the examination of social institutions, public policy, cultural dynamics, and research methodology. This background continues to inform her writing, allowing her to approach subjects through both analytical inquiry and practical experience.

In addition to her academic background, Soans has built a career spanning human resources, publishing, sports, and media. As a Human Resource Business Partner, she has worked within complex organizational environments requiring strategic thinking, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development.

Early readers have responded positively to the book, with one verified purchaser describing it as "Elegant, bold, and unforgettable, a refreshing take on femininity and sport."
