As a certified Kobido Expert, I am passionate about helping people embrace natural, graceful aging through the art of Japanese facial massage. My approach goes beyond skincare, focusing on the connection between beauty, well-being, and self-care. I believe true confidence comes from feeling balanced, healthy, and comfortable in your own skin.

What first convinced you that Kobido could change the way people think about beauty and aging?

I believe in natural, graceful aging. Kobido enhances your natural beauty rather than changing it. It's not about looking younger. It's about looking healthy, radiant, and confident at every age.

What makes Kobido fundamentally different from both traditional facials and cosmetic anti-aging treatments?

What makes Kobido fundamentally different is that it is performed entirely with the hands, with no tools or invasive procedures. Unlike a traditional facial that mainly treats the skin's surface, Kobido activates all 43 facial muscles, improves circulation, releases tension, supports lymphatic drainage, and helps the face look more lifted, refreshed, and radiant.

How do you combine traditional Japanese techniques with modern knowledge of facial anatomy to achieve natural results?

I combine the wisdom of traditional Japanese Kobido techniques with modern knowledge of facial anatomy by understanding how each muscle, tissue, and movement of the face works. This allows me to apply precise hand techniques that respect the body's natural processes, creating results that look balanced, refreshed, and naturally beautiful.

Why do you believe the beauty industry needs to shift its focus from correcting signs of aging to preventing them?

I believe the beauty industry needs to shift from correcting aging to embracing and supporting the natural aging process. In Japan, there is a deep appreciation for balance, prevention, and caring for the body before problems appear. Aging is seen as a natural journey, not something to fight. Kobido reflects this philosophy by focusing on maintaining vitality, relaxation, and natural beauty so people can age gracefully with confidence.

As demand for non-invasive treatments grows, what changes do you hope to see in how beauty professionals approach client care?

As demand for non-invasive treatments grows, I hope beauty professionals will embrace more holistic ways of caring for clients. Kobido can be added to facial massage and introduced as an add-on service in beauty salons, hair salons, and Japanese-inspired head spas, creating a deeper wellness experience. By combining beauty treatments with relaxation and natural techniques, professionals can offer clients a more comprehensive approach to self-care and well-being, delivering significant results after just one session.

What are some simple daily habits that help support healthy skin and facial vitality between treatments?

To support the benefits of Kobido between treatments, simple daily habits are essential. A gentle morning and evening skincare routine, proper hydration, and daily sun protection help maintain healthy skin. Adding a few minutes of mindful facial massage with gua sha at home can further support relaxation, circulation, and facial vitality, complementing the natural benefits of Kobido.

What surprises clients most about the emotional or physical benefits they experience after a Kobido session?

What surprises clients most is that Kobido offers benefits beyond the visible results. Many are amazed by the deep sense of relaxation, reduced facial tension, and feeling of inner calm they experience after a one-session treatment. Physically, they often notice a refreshed, lifted appearance, improved circulation, and a natural glow, while emotionally, they feel more balanced and connected with themselves.

You often say confidence is more important than looking younger. How has that belief shaped the way you work with clients?

I believe confidence comes from feeling good within yourself, not simply from looking younger. This belief has shaped the way I work with clients by emphasizing the connection among the body, mind, and natural beauty. Kobido is not only about facial techniques and visible results. It is also about creating a moment of relaxation, balance, and self-care. When we experience inner peace and harmony, it naturally reflects outwardly through a healthy glow, a more relaxed expression, and a renewed sense of confidence. True beauty comes from feeling comfortable and connected with yourself at every stage of life.

If you could change one belief people hold about aging, what would you want it to be?

If I could change one belief about aging, it would be that we don't need to fight against it. I believe we should learn to embrace aging as a natural and beautiful part of life. Instead of focusing on freezing time or changing who we are, we can focus on balance, a healthy lifestyle, and self-care.
