It’s time to end our cruelty, to animals, to nature, to each other, and start living like we care. This is my love letter to humanity. And like any real love letter, it doesn’t come without some tough truths.

Polluted beach with scattered plastic bottles and debris. Ocean waves on the left, palm trees and greenery in the background under a cloudy sky.

When will we wake up?

When will we open our eyes, not just with sight, but with soul, to the cruelty we normalize every single day? Cruelty to animals. Cruelty to nature. Cruelty to the Earth that sustains us. Cruelty to one another.

We’ve become desensitized, distracted, and spiritually dislocated.

We scroll past suffering like it’s background noise. We walk past trash on the street like we didn’t see it. We take from the land like we own it, strip it, sell it, and leave it dying while we build luxury condos and empty parking lots.

We’ve forgotten that we belong to the Earth. Not the other way around.

And here’s something we need to confront head-on:

People’s compassion is disturbingly conditional. You love your dog like family. You worship your pets. But you sit down and eat two to five dead animals a day, creatures who suffered deeply before their bodies ended up on your plate.

What kind of twisted psychology is that?

Oh, because “it’s in the Bible”? You think God loves conditionally? You think the Divine would write in suffering as a requirement for dinner? Or that cruelty would ever be holy?

Have you seen the conditions in which conventionally raised cows, chickens, and pigs are forced to live, and die?

Let’s not forget: the Roman Empire had a vested interest in shaping religion to control the masses. And the masses? They still need herding. Convenient belief systems make it easy to stay disconnected from the very real suffering we participate in.

But energy doesn’t lie. Consuming flesh that came from pain keeps our own vibrations low, dense, and primitive. It locks us in survival mode, disconnected from empathy, from higher awareness, from the natural reverence that makes us truly human.

You want to elevate? Start by questioning what you consume, not just with your mouth, but with your mind and your spirit.

You want to police something?

Then police how we treat the planet. Police the diaper floating in the ocean after a holiday weekend. Police the trash left behind in parks and on beaches, the same places people came to for their beauty, only to leave in worse shape than they found them.

Why is that okay?

My mother raised us differently. She taught us that you don’t need money to live with pride and cleanliness. That dignity isn’t about what you own, it’s about how you care.

She made us take trash bags outside and clean up the block. Not just our yard, but the whole street. “You live here,” she’d say. “So act like it.” Whether you rent or own, whether you’re here for a season or a lifetime, this is your home. Respect it. Take care of it. That stayed with me. She believed that a fresh coat of paint could change the energy in a room. That a clean space was a sacred space. That beauty was something you nurtured, not just admired.

It wasn’t about appearances, it was about responsibility. About love. And love, real love, shows up through action.

Pick up the trash. Plant a tree. Say no to developers destroying sacred land. Eat consciously. Teach your kids to care, not just consume. Clean up your front yard and your frequency.

Let’s remember what it means to live with reverence. Let’s remind ourselves that beauty is worth protecting, not just enjoying.

Because the earth isn’t disposable. And neither are we.

This is my love letter to humanity. Now love her back.
