When you discover your personal vision, it will evoke positive emotions, clarity, and open-mindedness, and help you to direct your energy towards achieving your goals.

One of the easiest, and most effective, ways to develop a vision and a master plan for your life is to follow the formula created by Young Gyo Chung, the CEO, and founder of SimTech Systems which is known for its MindMapper software.

Through facilitated workshops, thousands of users have planned their lives in vivid detail and have ensured that their goals align with their values. Since the vision template comes with the MindMapper software, users can also identify, develop, and plan to achieve their life’s vision on their own timeline, without a facilitator.

Vision Formula

The “vision formula” is divided into five major components, namely: dream, vision, mission, projects, and values. Essentially, the goal is to develop the big picture first and then deconstruct it into short-term and long-term projects that can be completed over weeks and months.

The overall diagram is what we refer to as the master map of our lives.

Dream

Dreams are a manifestation of our deepest desires and aspirations, and yet they are rarely expressed or organized in a meaningful way. Most of us have some vague ideas about what they might be, but not what they actually are.

It is only by taking an inventory of our wishes that we can zero in on the ones that truly resonate with our hearts and the core of our being.

Vision

If dreams are the manifestation of our wishes, then our vision is the manifestation of our happiness and success. Of course, pursuing happiness and success is one of the main drivers that brings us closer to achieving our dreams.

In the context of our framework, this section is where we conjure up memories and associations of our happiest times in the sub-categories of family, friends, and community – all while sketching up images that define our personal and social successes.

Mission

Quite simply, the mission involves achieving one or more significant objectives to realize the vision. It is comparable to a strategic action plan, which contains detailed activities and milestones.

Projects

We refer to these activities and milestones as “projects,” because they involve goals and a timeline. The projects are the actions that we take to achieve the objectives of our mission. Because this is where plans are executed and closely monitored, each project has its own objective, timeline, and tasks, which are visually outlined in the map and corresponding calendar.

Values

Perhaps not surprisingly, the most important factor that ties everything else together is our values, the essence of who we are. Our values inform our behaviors, guide our decisions, and provide us with direction during times of need and uncertainty. Alternatively, when our dreams, vision, and mission do not align with our values, we will face friction, and frustration, and will ultimately fail to achieve the happiness and success that we long for.

Conclusion

To navigate our daily lives, act with clarity and purpose, and achieve our greatest dreams, we need both a bird's eye view and a street view of our life as it unfolds.

At MindMapper, we have helped thousands of users to not only unlock their dreams and vision, but also to learn how to brainstorm, manage projects, and gain powerful insights into themselves. We invite you to try our software's built-in vision formula or join a facilitator-led live session to discover your dreams and create a master plan for your life. By working together, we can make your dreams come true.
