As we approach Fall, 2021, are you ready to stretch your muscles of confidence? Stretching, metaphorically speaking, for Mother Nature, is a very natural occurrence as we transition from Summer to Fall. It’s that time of year when we realize, where did the summer go when we really should be asking ourselves where did the time go?

We learn to adapt to each new season and I know for me, when a new season approaches, I am always contemplating how to more effectively utilize my time. Fears and anxieties may pop up and derail my motivation, but staying the course takes creative muscle-flexing. This is also true for many women and men as we love the comfort of our highly empowered emotions to combat our fears and anxieties. Simply stated, being comfortable is a great thing; I kind of enjoy being comfortable, however, if we are not giving ourselves the opportunity to lead with confidence, we tend to waste our time, and this creates a “negative” normal pattern.


Patterns as we know, are habitual practices on a day-to-day basis and for many, an hour-by-hour basis. We can’t bulletproof our confidence by not cycling our opportunities and changing our behaviors. Time will not stop; lost time is a tragedy.

As Benjamin Franklin once said, “The lost time is never found again.”

Yes; we all have the same 24 hours; you cannot make up time, you have to make the time. When in the throws of effectively managing your time in a creative and productive manner, your stress and anxiety will be greatly reduced! You will have the courage and confidence to complete your tasks or to-do-list and have a better appreciation of how you spend and manage your time.


Three major signs you need to reconsider your time management skills:


1. You are not using an effective method to utilize your time. I always say, there is an app for that however, keep it simple. Write it down; have a time log. (I encourage you to keep a 7-day time log if you are in the never-ending loop of “I don’t have time.” Keeping a 7-day time log is not the most pleasant thing to do. It is an economical way to view your time as money; and not the other way around, meaning if you are busy and not being productive, your time log will specifically show where you can easily and effectively improve your time management.) 


2. Your To-Do-List Resembles a Written Manuscript! If you keep adding tasks to complete on your to-do list and not actually completing them, this could be an overwhelming and unwelcome problem for you personally and for your business. If this may be you, try to break your list down: client; personal; business management, etc. 


3. Your block-out time is spent scrolling. Oh, dare I admit this - I know, to some degree, we are all guilty of this! Specifically blocking out time to complete a task or work on a project is a time which is well spent, less stress, and for many, can put you ahead of your completion time for a project = more time, more freedom, and more money - LESS stress! 


Lead yourself to take action. We only complicate things when we are not willing to strategically balance and change our outlook on how we view our time because the easiest thing to say is to complain that we don’t have enough time. This unfortunately is more of a natural reaction or a way of escaping and validating the reasons for not completing a task. We literally deny ourselves our true potential. 


Tangible Tools are right at your fingertips! Even with Fall right around the corner, remember, time waits for no one! Change does not come easy (only for Mother Nature!) She is not the time management guru, but really, she is the force not to be reckoned with - you don’t want to mess with her!
