This is a story of how I left a corporate pharmacist position and started a successful coaching business within 6 months. You might be asking, is this really possible? You just have to believe it is and then act on that belief. That’s where I would get stuck.

“I can’t go back to my career. It’s killing me.”

Those are the words I spoke when I was on a year-long hiatus from my pharmacy job and contemplating my next move. I finally said it. I finally declared my truth. I can’t go back.

Up until that point, I had every intention of getting back into the corporate pharmacy game and reclaiming my place in the rat race once that year was over. But there was always a wave of intense nausea that would come over me whenever I thought about walking through the doors of another corporation and losing myself again.

It was the turning point for me and it was in that moment that I gave myself permission to dream again. And not dream about millions of dollars, vacations or anything that was tangible or self-indulgent.

It was permission to live for me. You see I had been living a life of expectation. And not expectations that I had, but rather expectations that I thought others had for me. Expectations of life; the things we ought to do, the things we are supposed to do.

I have never considered leaving or even slowing down because you’re always supposed to go up the corporate ladder, not down it. We are always supposed to want more, aren’t we?

I never contemplated doing anything else because that’s all that I knew or so I thought.

I stayed stuck because I was so afraid of losing financial security. The truth was I was afraid I couldn’t make it.

I didn’t believe in myself even though I never gave myself a chance to try because I was too afraid that I would fail.

I didn’t want to start over again. I was too old. Ironically, once I made that decision not to go back I felt more alive than I had my entire life.

I stayed stuck because I couldn’t abandon an education that took me years to get. If only I knew I could take it with me wherever I go.

Once I made the decision to never go back but to move forward, I was able to pour all my energy and heart into my future. This is how I was able to create a thriving coaching business, hitting 5-figure months, living my full potential and my new found passion, and doing all of this in less than 6-months.

And here’s what I want people to know when it comes to creating something from nothing.

It takes…

Courage to take that leap into the unknown.

Determination to take a chance on yourself despite your fears and doubts telling you that it’s too risky.

Risking failure to achieving your dream.

Realizing the value in failure is the lesson which only brings you closer to success.

Resilience against the naysayers and the stumbles along the way.

Giving yourself permission to dream brighter and bigger than you ever thought possible.

Actioning those dreams into reality instead of just wishing them to be true.

A relentless belief in the world of possibilities, and most importantly in yourself.

If you have all that then these steps are going to expedite the progress of your coaching business. Here are the first things you need to move forward:

  1. Strong presence on a social media platform with an equally strong message.

  2. A tested process through which you can create authentic and occasionally vulnerable connections with your potential clients.

  3. Solutions to your clients’ unique situations which will reduce the time and investment required to achieve their goals, dreams and aspirations.

  4. Strong moral obligation to stand and hold a space for your client and coach them through their own breakthrough and into their own transformation.

  5. Finally, to adopt and develop the tools and techniques of the trade.

Looking back, I realise I left my corporate pharmacist position to coach people through a transformational process similar to my own. I bring a high level of value to them, in a different way, that is more meaningful and purposeful to me. Today I now coach my clients on how to get unstuck, change their life patterns and create a life that brings them joy and that they love.

If you didn’t have to worry about money or that you weren’t living your potential because of others’ expectations of you…

How would your life change? How would you do things differently?

And then ask yourself this…is this possible for me to have now? If you struggle with seeing the possibility of living the life of your dreams, then connect with me. I’d love to help you discovery just how possible and worthy you are of your dreams.

Consumer Loans in the Euro Area Remain More Than Twice as Expensive as Mortgages — and the Baltics Stand Out

Fresh figures from the European Central Bank (ECB) underline a growing divide between everyday borrowing and housing finance across Europe.
