We hate to admit it, but at times, we flounder when it comes to making good decisions for ourselves. This is especially so if we have a great track record of success, and generally move through our lives confidently and surely. From that pedestal, we peer over the edge and fear falling to our... what? Death Embarrassment? Inconvenience? Sorrow?

A forest with two path ways.

It is often difficult to discern what it is we fear, but we can acknowledge that it sometimes, causes us to avoid deciding. Some of us become great procrastinators because of this nefarious fear. And sometimes, we make decisions that attract difficult consequences, prompting us to wish we had never decided at all. Gah!

What if there was an easier and more sure-fire way to discern what is best for us? This can operate in the moment, with an on-the-fly decision, or as a more encompassing life direction.

Being open to change, possibilities, and answered prayers allows us to better welcome what we have invited in. Things tend to sneak up on us when we aren’t looking. Then we are left behind the 8-ball, struggling to catch up.

Ever notice that a period of tension, shake-ups, and weird feelings precipitate a crisis or even a small change of circumstance? If not, become aware and watch.

Tension can be proactive energy that fuels change and can inspire us to action. It is a harbinger of things to come if we choose to see it that way. What we do next is important.

We need to be careful during these first days not to act out of reaction but to consider our next steps carefully and practically.

Decisions and intentions need to come from our intuitive truth and the emotional intelligence of our hearts. If we overthink and ruminate, we will only add to the confusion and we, quite possibly, will miss the coming opportunity.

The mind may mislead us, as it operates on programs, information, and beliefs that are not usually our own but have been downloaded unconsciously throughout life from outside sources. This is how the mind works – it is a GPS that keeps us in a safe position relative to what we have learned.

The intelligence of the heart and intuition are closely connected as both come from our own body technology, and they will never lie. They are the communication portals for the eternal self that inhabits our body. Some call this the soul or spirit.

Our soul speaks to us through the body, which is an amazing organic supercomputer. Here is one fact that may surprise you.

The neuron is a type of cell endemic to the brain and nervous system. It is unique in that it can carry an electrical charge. A cluster or chain of neurons running a charge through them is a thought or memory.

We have neurons in the ganglia of our heart, known as sensory neurites. We also have more neurons in our upper gut than within our spinal cord. Ergo, we think with more than our brain and should learn to think with more than our brain.

Learning to employ more of our tremendous body technology for higher results in our lives is becoming the way of the future.

Here are 3 steps you can employ to connect with your own body technology:

1. Become acquainted with your internal communication system. For example, watch what happens in your body when you experience strong reactions to someone or something – does your stomach feel tight or hurt? Does your heart flutter or burn? When you are happy – what is the feeling in your body and around your core? Who or what relaxes you and makes you feel safe? Write things down and look for patterns. Developing a finely tuned communication system and trusting your body will aid you in making solid decisions that align with your purpose.

2. Pay attention to what resonates with you. Resonance occurs when a medium vibrates at its natural, highest amplitude. Sympathetic resonance occurs when something else vibrates at the same frequency. What this means for us is to determine what and who around us makes us feel good. Does the person, circumstance, or imagined opportunity feel easy, effortless, and joyful to be with? That is a sympathetic resonance. Or, when you are present with someone or something, do you notice your energy draining, or do you feel anxious somehow? Having clear guidance about what or who to avoid will save many heartaches.

3. Lastly, there are variations of feeling good. Some of us have long numbed ourselves to our anxieties and have lost our connection to what is true happiness or what feels right for our highest good. There is a difference between craving and hunger; relief and healing; immediate gratification and a healthy, structured state. Take the time to investigate what soothes the temporary version of you and what serves your more eternal self – the one you want to be.

Awareness and repetition are key to reaching alignment with your path and purpose, or at least a more relaxed and fun version of yourself, living your best life. Decisions can come easier when you really know who is making them.
