Startups often start with highly manual processes. Designers are involved in every step, gaining deep insights into the product. But as a startup scales, doing everything manually is no longer sustainable. Automation in tech and adding structure in design becomes essential. This transition can lead to friction as new team members take on roles that were previously handled by fewer people, and communication starts to break down.


Moving from flat hierarchies to structured growth

Offering incentives for activities like design hackathons, writing, or speaking at events can help keep the team motivated and engaged.
