Life is unfair. The sooner you accept your reality for what it is versus what you think it should be, the more joy you will feel. Everyone is dealt a different deck of cards, it is what you choose to do with them that will really determine the trajectory of your life.

In this article I explain what ‘choose your hard’ means and how to decipher which ‘hard’ is meant for you. A calm nervous system and contentment can often feel like all of the clouds clearing and a sense of lightness washing over you. One that allows you to breathe again.

Allows you to feel hopeful, wishful and excited for what is to come. Unfortunately, these moments come and go and are often punctuated by tough life experiences. Life has the habit of hardening us through experiences of trial and error. But the moment you realize you get to choose your hard you see how much control you truly have over your own life. If where you are right now feels challenging, messy and sticky, that is hard. But making the decision to take the next step to better yourself and your future is also hard. Being committed to a communicative relationship is hard. And being a part of a non-communicative relationship is also hard. Life is unfair.

Life is not easy. Humans are capable of so much greatness but are oftentimes left feeling disappointed as a result of allowing fear to dictate their every move. Fear of how hard things will feel if they choose to change their current state. However, you get to choose which hard serves you and the more you continue to choose YOURSELF the lighter you will feel.

Choose your hard for the future you, the one that is unapologetically ambitious and takes ruthless accountability for their participation in their own human experience.
