Samantha Morris, Mental Well-being Life Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Hi, I’m Samantha Morris, a Mental Well-being Life Coach, NLP Master Practitioner & Natural Solutions Provider.

I grew up in Manchester, United Kingdom before sailing to success as a Purser in the Maritime Industry at the age of 21. My career has been split between the cruise ship and yachting industries.

Over the last 13 years I have travelled the world, experienced many cultures, developed excellent listening and understanding skills, alongside a compassion to help people thrive.

My hobbies include attending regular yoga classes, cycling down the promenade, learning to play the soprano saxophone and spending time with my closest family and friends.

What is your business name and how do you help your clients?

My business name is “Samantha Morris Healer” and I help my clients move from a state of chaos to calm by using a combination of Life Coaching techniques, NLP, Essential Oils, Ayurvedic principles and Holistic Coaching approaches – meditation and breath work, etc.

What kind of audience do you target your business towards?

My target audience is Seafarers within the Maritime Industry.

Each Seafarer’s circumstance is different, along with where they currently are in their lives and where they want to be.

When I sail alongside them on their journey of change, I can help them to identify their values, beliefs, and goals so that they can take small steps and move forward to live the life they want to lead.

What are your current goals for your business?

My current business goals include.

  • Increasing website traffic and growing brand awareness.

  • To generate more leads and in turn sales.

What would you like to achieve for yourself and your business in the future?

My personal and business goals for the future include.

  • Growing an online community/ membership to be able to maximise my time to be able to help a wider audience.

  • Creating a charitable foundation to create a strategic approach to my philanthropy, to make a real impactful change in society.

What is your work inspired by?

I am passionate about making a positive impact and change for Seafarer’s Mental Health.

To raise more awareness about the importance of crew wellbeing ensuring that their emotional, physical, mental, occupational, environmental, financial, social and intellectual health are prioritised to ensure that a work/life balance can be obtained.

I am aligned with my purpose to make an impact in this world and to help others sail on the ocean of life in their own unique way. Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

I have been featured in many magazines within the Maritime Industry speaking publicly about the importance of Mental Health and each of these is singularly my greatest achievements in my career.

Another great achievement is winning “The Purser Award in 2021”, with ACREW Yachting.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

In 2021, I resigned from my position as Purser onboard a yacht, due to the decline of my mental and physical health and I returned home to the UK. I found myself lost, broken, scared of the world and my own shadow.

Onboard, I had been working with disempowering leadership, which contributed to working long hours, not taking regular breaks even to go to the bathroom or to eat meals, I was sleep deprived and drinking excessively, using this as a method to relief stress. I was exhausted, mentally fatigued, and drained. All my spare time was used to sleep as I could not retain my energy and I felt depressed.

To top this all off I was at sea, isolated during the pandemic!

I started to become both mentally and physically unwell, stressed, overwhelmed, and fatigued. I was suffering with burnout, anxiety and panic attacks, PTSD, and fight/light freeze response.

I had lost all my confidence and independence. I was feeling sad, disappointed, disrespected, ashamed, doubtful, heartbroken, fragile, defensive, vulnerable, nervous, empty, distressed, and worthless.

This is when I knew something had to change, I couldn't continue with the same lifestyle and I needed a career break.

A friend introduced me to life coaching and doTERRA essential oils (to combat my negative emotions.)

I took a break for 7 months where my only focus was healing myself from this trauma.

Life Coaching and Essential Oil therapy changed my life, and it was from here on out that I wanted to train to become one of the same and in October 2021, I enrolled on a Life Coaching Diploma, followed by the NLP Practitioner Certificate and lately the NLP Master Practitioner Certificate.

It was here that Samantha Morris Healer was born in September 2022, and I reiterate as above that ‘It is my mission to make a positive impact and change for Seafarer’s Mental Health.’
