Let me just preface this. Just because you’re “new” " you aren’t starting over.

Outdoor shot of Allyza

If you left corporate.

If you left your lab.

If you left your studio.

If you left your practice… to run your own business as a coach, you aren’t starting over.

Just because you gained a new title, we think we have to be something new, something we weren’t before.

Something we’re not. Yet.

You come into this “new you” as a business owner, more specifically as a Powerhouse Coach, often with the heavily burdened question:

“Who the heck am I to?”

Coupled with the beliefs that you

“Have to start from scratch.”

“Have no credibility.”

“No background”

“Not even a degree to back up my new ‘title’”

The good news?

You already know this.

It may look a little different, but you’ve already done it.

Remember to consider your years of experience and the many ups and downs.

Now that we have established that this journey is something you’ve already done, here’s how you become the Go-To in your industry.

Start talking and share your expertise to coach your way to success

If you were a scientist beforehand, why not explore this new ‘hypothesis’ and view it as sharing your results, experiments, etc.

If you were an artist, why not view this as sharing your artwork with those close to you

If you were a healer, why not view your offers and solutions as ointment, tinctures, and cures. Simply use your words.

Leverage, leverage, leverage

The best way to get known quickly is through networks. So, let me share my L3 Method.

Leverage other’s audience.

Leverage other’s traffic.

Leverage your expertise.

Dare to be different: Contrarian hook points

Without a doubt, there are so many coaches online every day. It's even harder to stand out because it seems like everyone just sounds the same, teaching the same thing, so saying the things that no one else says or having the courage to start conversations that go against common industry norms is an INSTANT way to stand out.

Set boundaries

Hear me and hear me well when I say this: to be The Go-To in your industry does not mean that you should be giving away anything for free. You are not Google or a charity. You are a business. Treat your expertise as such and charge accordingly.

Remember, you already know this. You can and should be the Go-To in your industry (even if you’re a “brand new” coach). Which one of these is something you are going to execute this year?

When you focus on these four things, it won’t take long until you have people talking about you, sharing your work, referring you to others, and your audience buying everything you offer, which are ample hints that you have established that reputation as the Go-To in your industry. The biggest hint you know you have ‘made’ it is when you have a loyal audience and clients becoming your marketing team; they champion your work and what you stand for so much that they can’t stop talking about you.
