Darci Jean Brown, Founder

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about yourself and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Hi! I’m Darci Jean Brown, the founder of Soul Boost Meditation. I’m someone who truly believes in the power of stillness, intention, and soul-aligned living. I currently split my time between California and the island of Lānaʻi, Hawaiʻi, where I feel deeply connected to the land and its wisdom. I work full-time as a tax specialist by day and pour my heart into Soul Boost in the mornings, evenings, and weekends, guiding meditations, creating content, and supporting people on their spiritual path.

Outside of work, I’m all about nature, laughter, and presence. I love the beach, tennis, hiking and anything outdoors. I’m passionate about helping people tap into their own inner guidance, and I live for those soul-tingling moments when someone finally remembers who they are and gets to connect with spirit.

What inspired you to create Soul Boost Meditation?

Truthfully, it came from my own healing journey. Years ago, I was navigating intense anxiety, burnout, and spiritual disconnection. I started hearing intuitive whispers, much like I did when I was a kid and was wrongly diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. But rather than running from them, I began listening. Meditation became the bridge back to me.

I created Soul Boost because I wanted to offer something that felt supportive and create a space for people to connect and strengthen their own intuition. I want people to feel held, seen, and gently guided back into alignment. It’s for those of us who crave both depth and lightness, who want to be spiritual without bypassing the hard stuff.

That journey also inspired me to write my book, A Growing Soul Misdiagnosed, to share the truth behind my healing, reclaim my narrative, and help others feel less alone as they navigate their own path back to wholeness.

How would you describe your approach to meditation and mindfulness?

Very intuitive, heart-centered, and grounded in real life. I blend traditional mindfulness tools with guided visualization, energy healing, and spiritual coaching. I don’t believe meditation has to look one way. For some, it’s sitting in silence; for others, it’s breathwork at the beach or noticing the energy in their body while washing dishes.

I like to call my approach a soul-guided presence. It’s about tuning in, not checking out. We’re not chasing perfection, we’re coming home to ourselves, one mindful moment at a time.

Who can benefit most from your services and programs?

Anyone who’s feeling disconnected from themselves, their intuition, or their sense of purpose. I work with everyone from overwhelmed professionals to teens navigating emotional intensity, to heart-centered creatives craving clarity and confidence.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “too sensitive” or that you’ve been holding everyone else together but losing parts of yourself in the process, Soul Boost is for you.

What sets Soul Boost apart from other meditation platforms?

Soul Boost isn’t just about calming down; it’s about rising up. Yes, we help you ground, but we also help you reconnect with your power. What sets us apart is the energetic depth: each session feels like both a mini reset and a soul activation.

Everything is delivered with intuitive guidance and genuine warmth. It’s real connection, intuitive flow, and practical tools you can actually use in everyday life. I also host weekly live meditations on Insight Timer, where hundreds gather for real-time energy shifts. There’s a palpable sacredness in those spaces, something you can truly feel.

Can you share a transformation story that deeply moved you?

There are so many, but one that has stayed with me is a session with a gentleman who connected with his son during meditation. That moment opened the door for him to reconnect with parts of himself he had shut down because of grief.

Through the guided Soul Boost Meditation, he was able to sense his son who had passed away and receive comfort, clarity, and new insights about his own purpose and healing journey. It was deeply emotional and profoundly beautiful to witness him both release long-held pain and light up with a renewed sense of peace and connection.

So many of us have shut down parts of ourselves, whether from loss, heartbreak, or simply the pace of life pulling us out of presence. That’s why it’s so vital to have a practice we can return to each day to gently reconnect and tend to our own energy. I believe in the importance of spiritual hygiene, cleansing the mind, body, and spirit regularly, so we can show up to life more aligned, grounded, and whole.

What’s one tip you’d give to someone just starting their meditation journey?

Start small and start where you are. You don’t have to do it perfectly; you just have to show up. Even one intentional breath counts. And remember, the goal isn’t to stop your thoughts, it’s to change your relationship with them.

Give yourself grace. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re waking up.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

Receiving direct feedback from my Insight Timer meditation community that my voice helped them fall asleep, manage panic attacks, or reconnect with their own intuition has moved me deeply. Those moments remind me why I do this work.

Launching The Soul Boost Podcast and being invited to host retreats in beautiful places like Santa Ynez with Vino Vaquera Consulting and in San Diego has been deeply soul-filling and an incredible gift. Each experience has deepened my purpose and shown me the impact of simply showing up with intention, presence, and heart.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

I’d love to see more balance between the grounded and the mystical, between science-backed tools and open-hearted, intuitive practices. So often in the wellness space, I see people leaning entirely into one or the other. Some approaches are so clinical that they lose their soul, while others float so high into the "woo" that they forget to anchor into reality.

But the truth is, we don’t have to choose. Science and spirit can coexist beautifully. That’s what I try to offer with Soul Boost, a blend of grounded nervous system support, breathwork, and energetic awareness, alongside spiritual insight and intuitive connection. When we honor both, the healing becomes holistic, embodied, and truly transformational.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

It wasn’t just one moment; it was a series of micro-moments stretched across the past couple of decades. At 17, I was misdiagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorder. Years later, I came to understand that what I was actually experiencing was PTSD and that the “voices” I had been hearing were, in fact, my guides.

That realization shifted everything.

From that point on, I began to lean into my truth. I stopped fearing the whispers and started listening to them. Trusting my intuition became a daily practice. Each time I chose to tune in instead of shutting down, I came home to myself a little more. And even now, I continue to follow those quiet nudges as they guide me, remind me of who I am, and why I’m here.

Through Soul Boost Meditation, I now help others do the same, gently guiding clients to reconnect with their own inner wisdom, strengthen their intuition, and feel safe returning to the truth of who they are. My journey has shown me the power of honoring our inner world, and I’m passionate about helping others experience that same clarity, healing, and alignment.
