A romantic and a lover of philosophy, the blockchain expert Francesco Bisardi had a big dream: Becoming a contemporary version of Caspar David Friedrich’s “Wanderer above the Sea of Fog.” The man in the painting of the romantic German artist looks at the horizon in an ambitious way.

“I used to think the horizon was in Silicon Valley, where there’s also typically some fog,” Bisardi explains.

Silicon Valley is, or at least used to be, the Mecca of the tech world. The 29-year-old – a growth expert and marketer for BitGo, previously an advisor for Vite Labs (Blockchain), Nonfiction Design, and TechCrunch – aimed at reaching his goal and working in that environment, not as a complete nerd, but as a fit and athletic expert in technologies.

In fact, fitness and an athlete’s mentality are another crucial part of his persona. Francesco started training for power lifting and bodybuilding when he was extremely young. He even won the Italian bench press championships.

At the same time, at the age of 9, he started learning about computer programming: The result is a perfect mix of a talented, nerdy man with an athlete’s body and a very competitive mentality. A winning combination in the tech world and in business in general.

“I am romantic in the way I like to give life to emotions. I think having dreams helps a lot in life,” says the talent from Amantea, a small seaside town in Calabria (Southern Italy).

The “Wanderer above the Sea of Fog” painting is the cover of “Thus Spoke Zarathustra”, a work of philosophical fiction written by German philosopher Friedrich Nietsche, who introduced the concept of the Übermensch (Overhuman). This ideal superior man who can control his future and rise above moral conventions to impose his own values is particularly dear to Bisardi’s heart and a big inspiration for his lifestyle.

The ambitious tech lover moved to California with a goal and a vision: He wanted to compete and win in Silicon Valley. He was never interested in working in the technology field in Italy as he only wanted to be in the cutting-edge, state-of-the-art, dominating location in his business of choice. “I didn’t really have an American dream, but I wanted to be in the best place for my field and compete in it,” he adds. Nowadays, Francesco wouldn’t mind moving to Asia if it will be the next big market and the next huge step because he has a global citizen vision and only aims for the best.

His ambition was visible since he was a kid. Inspired by the Dragon Ball Z cartoon, he started doing pushups. He was doing too many of them, which created repercussions on his back. Doctors advised his parents to take him to physical therapy and, soon after, he started attending a very old-school gym. He was still a kid when he started lifting weights, against the will of his family and the gym’s personnel. He kept fighting, working out with weights secretly.

He started competing in power lifting at 17 years of age , winning any competition he was attending.

After conquering the Italian championships, he decided to take a leap of faith onto another path.

This journey built Francesco’s mindset. Inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s speech about the five rules for success, he lives by these principles: Dream big and have a vision, divide et impera (set small goals and go step by step toward a bigger objective), ignore the nay-sayers, work hard, and give back.

Being a competitive athlete helped built his character, perseverance, and devotion to his objectives.

A true inspiration for any young man or woman with big dreams.
