Fitness Mindset and the Three Pillars of True Success – Exclusive Interview with John E Bezerra

My name is John Bezerra, and I was born in the small Central California farm town of Delano, California. I was blessed to have incredible parents who excelled in their professions, but it was my grandfather who left the deepest imprint on me. An entrepreneur since the age of 12, he lived a life of vision and hustle that captivated me early on. I’ve been an entrepreneur since kindergarten—literally. I discovered that you could turn a $1 bag of marbles into $5, and that 500% ROI was all the inspiration I needed. I was also deeply involved in sports growing up. My grandfather taught me a principle I’ve lived by ever since: “If you work hard, you can achieve anything—and if you fail, you simply work harder.” That mantra fueled my athletic pursuits. By the time I graduated high school, I was a three-time national champion in wrestling and also in BMX racing. A few years later, I transitioned into bodybuilding and earned a national title in that discipline as well.

John E Bezerra, Fitness & Business Coach

What inspired your transformation from athlete to fitness coach and author?

Even at a young age, whether it was teammates in wrestling or friends in BMX, I always found myself in a mentorship role. I genuinely enjoyed helping others improve. After high school, I helped coach the wrestling team and worked at a local bike shop, where I trained potential racers. That naturally transitioned into fitness coaching. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to train Hollywood stars, Hall of Fame athletes, politicians, and everyone in between. It's been an honor to impact thousands of lives through fitness and coaching.

You often speak about the “Three Pillars of True Success.” Can you break that down for us?

It’s really a simple but powerful concept. I’ve worked with multi-millionaires and billionaires who had terrible health—and many died years before they should have. On the other side, I’ve seen fitness celebrities who could barely pay their rent. What’s missing in both cases is mindset. When your physical fitness, mental fitness, and financial health are aligned, you unlock a truly blessed life. It’s not just about looking good or making money—it’s about thriving in every area, sustainably and joyfully.

What’s one lesson you’ve learned working with high-level athletes and celebrities?

They tend to vibrate on a higher frequency. Their ability to solve problems without falling into negativity is remarkable. My good friend, Andre Agassi, has taught me countless life lessons—especially about overcoming adversity and maintaining clarity. His example has helped shape who I am today—not just as a coach, but as a father, mentor, and human being.

What advice would you give to someone looking to reinvent themselves in the second half of life?

Start with an honest assessment. Ask yourself: What makes you happy? What’s holding you back? Look at your stress levels, your habits, your movement. Then, shift your mindset, increase your activity, clean up your nutrition, and be very mindful of the information you consume. Surround yourself with positive, successful people, and if your career no longer serves you—change it. Today, you can literally launch a business in hours and start profiting right away. There are no excuses anymore.

How do you help clients embrace the digital nomad lifestyle?

One word: digital products. Whether I’m reselling valuable digital tools or creating my own fitness and lifestyle systems, the model is scalable and sustainable. When you combine that with the power of social media and AI, it’s game-changing. The resources are all there—if you’re not taking advantage, you’re getting left behind.

What is your greatest career achievement so far?

Honestly, it’s not the titles or the trophies—it’s the fact that I’ve helped thousands of people change their lives. I’ve helped them improve their health, boost their mindset, transform their businesses, and live longer, fuller lives. That’s more rewarding than any amount of money or fame. It’s the legacy I’m most proud of.

If you could change one thing about the fitness industry, what would it be?

The fact that someone can become a “certified personal trainer” in a few hours without real experience is ridiculous. There needs to be more regulation and accountability. In some countries, trainers are required to have a bachelor’s degree—and I think that’s a solid starting point. Of course, nothing replaces real-life experience, but we need higher standards. Every body is unique, and a true professional understands that.

What’s your goal for the next 10 years of your life?

My goal is to help one million people before I leave this earth. I’ll never retire from helping others—it’s part of who I am. My biggest accomplishment isn’t just that I’m a coach, but that I’m a trusted friend and guide to thousands. I want to continue teaching people the smart way, the healthy way, the inspired way.
