You’re a scientist turned spiritual healer, an expert in brain health science and peak mental performance and the founder of Peak Mind Academy and Lehigh Valley Hypnosis LLC, serving clients around the globe. Can you tell us more about your work and how you ended up where you are today?

I became an engineer and scientist because I knew, from an early age, that I wanted to help achieve something that would make the world a better place. However, I wasn’t exactly what I would call fulfilled within my work. I struggled with something, yet couldn’t figure out what was missing.

The thing is, there are areas in life that science can’t explain. I realized this after my first near-death experience (NDE). This event flipped my world upside down, but in the best way possible.

Following this experience, and what I learned from this experience, I decided to be open to the arena that I didn’t understand.

Since then, I’ve had two other NDE’s alongside multiple out of body experiences that have propelled me to step into a new kind of freedom and teach others how to step into their own.

With a background in science, I had an advantage on my journey and could understand how my brain, and others’, worked. I knew that there were two halves of my brain and that I was only utilizing one of them, the analytical part.

This newfound freedom came when I realized that I had to stop limiting my mind.

Our minds are magical tools given to us so that we can access various levels of consciousness in order to live a life full of miracles and hope.

The interesting thing about hope is that it doesn’t do anything on its own. Hope is the fuel, the motivation, that helps us to take action to get us to where we want to be. When we have hope, we connect with our energy, with our power, with our strength.

Now, I’ve taken what I’ve learned from both science and the wisdom gained from my NDE’s to help individuals get from a place of silent suffering to pure bliss; so they can be full of the hope they need to reach that state.

You have also written two bestselling books and earned the Excellence in Hypnosis Award 2020. This is a very impressive career and I wonder if you encountered any major challenges during your journey and how have these affected you?

Of course, I have – who doesn’t face challenges?

For me, the biggest challenge was the fear of not being good enough and as a result, being afraid of rejection from others. – My mind raised all the “what if” questions?

“What if what I'm doing isn’t good enough?”

“What if when I write the books, I miss out on helping people while I’m writing the books?”

Multiple times, I had to push through these situations by telling myself that the books would help more people than I could by helping one person at a time.

Realizing that my mind was playing tricks on me, thus causing me to procrastinate and allow myself to come up with excuses to not write the books/do hypnosis work, was the turning point.

Recognizing what is going on with the mind is about 80% of the work. The rest, about 20%, is doing the work itself.

Some of this work took place during the beginning of the pandemic while I was working with sick people, medical professionals and the like. The pressure to help them while seeing them suffer and go through their traumatic days, long shifts and horrible situations was very challenging.

I felt the pressure, intensely, to help them keep up their strength and to show up every day at their workplaces. This was probably one of the biggest challenges for me to keep going.

That, and facing the unknown in all situations of life was a huge struggle for me. For example, before the first book was published, I didn’t know if I could even write a book. Before the pandemic hit, we didn’t know how to handle a situation like that or if we could get out of it soon and alive. The unknown is a big, scary thing.

Making the switch from being a scientist to a spiritual teacher and healer was another big unknown for me.

What would you say is the best thing about being a healer, in addition to helping people of course?

I would say the best thing about being a healer is that I can help my clients to create their own miracles; miracles of healing or creating peace. Ideally, they spread the message of how powerful the mind is and what love can do for us and the planet. This ripple effect makes me really happy.

Helping people to heal spreads more love, and teaching my methods is another great thing about being a healer. Love is the most important thing in life. Love can do anything. With the healing that takes place within my clients, love grows and that’s the ripple effect. We can make the world a more peaceful place.

Usually, healing doesn’t change just one person’s life, it changes a family's life, a community’s life. And even more so companies, economies and so on. It really is a ripple effect.

What makes the world a better place is when we can unfold the love we carry inside.

Before we know it, as more and more become aware of their self-healing abilities, this world can become a place of hope, peace, and love.

Is there something special that keeps you motivated?

WWhen our daughter was 10 years old, she was given a death diagnosis. We were told that she wouldn’t live. But she did, and with hindsight, hypnosis saved her life.

Our daughter’s health challenges have been my biggest challenge and my biggest motivators.

The doctors telling me to say goodbye to my baby, no. I couldn’t accept that, and I didn’t.

Having hope that there would be help for her, that she would recover, this was both the biggest challenge and the biggest motivator.

If it wouldn’t be for her, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing and showing up every day, no matter how hard or easy it is; it’s for her.

Following this realization, I went on an unstoppable journey, I learned about hypnosis, I studied like crazy, earned two Ph.D.s became a double board-certified hypnotherapist, a hypnosis instructor, a certified mental coach, passed many additional certification classes, and even became a firefighter. I just knew I needed to save lives.

Now I know that my mission is to help people to live amazing, meaningful lives with the firm foundation of unconditional love.

Speaking of love, my husband is both my biggest critic and my biggest supporter. He encourages me every day, challenges me and he supports me. He is the love of my life!

You practice something called Neuro-encoding, what is this and how can it help people?

I like to think of the brain and the nervous system as if they have their own language. With Neuro-encoding, we can learn and understand the language of our nervous system.

Today, we live in a world where that language can become jumbled up with many outside factors; fear-based, materialistic, and generational factors that are not in line with how we truly want to live our lives.

We can modulate and adapt or even change that “language”, and by changing that language within the brain we can transform what we think, how we feel and act. What was once considered “safe” or understood by our brains, can become totally reprogrammed with new neuronal pathways that become our new, and true “safe and familiar”.

We can encode new thoughts, feelings, habits and behaviours. This changes our lives for the better. I always say:

"Better brains, better humans!"

What makes you feel ‘out of your comfort zone?’ How do you handle these types of situations?

For 25 years, I’ve been “in the closet” with my NDEs’ wisdom while afraid to share my story due to that fear of being judged and rejected.

However, what good can I do for the world, with the wisdom that I gained following these experiences, if I remain silent? Finally, I opened up and even went public with it.

That’s how I deal with challenges like that. When it’s time, I take the leap of faith. I stop fighting it, then I start fighting alongside with it. It makes me grow which is always uncomfortable, yet rewarding. This way to attack challenges is what I learned in Karate-classes my daughter and I took together some decades ago. The power lies in the mind and in fighting for something instead of fighting against something.

Growth can only happen when we are pushed out of our comfort zone.

So, what’s the next big goal or project for Petra and how can someone get in contact with you?

I really want to continue serving clients all over the world, in person and virtually.

My coaching and spiritual guidance work encompasses a multitude of services dependent on the clients and their needs. Topics I’m specialized in are PTSD, addictions, and brain fog as a result of trauma, disease, or chemotherapy.

Also, I’m proud to announce that I am the co-founder of Lyme Body Soul; a unique event that will provide solutions to people who suffer from Lyme disease or other autoimmune disorders.

Please make sure to get in touch with me through my website www.petrafrese.com. You can follow me on other social media as well. I’m looking forward to hearing from you and to assist you in creating your very own miracle.

It’s all about love!
