Priscilla Hinds, Growth & Wellbeing Strategy Coach

You’ve had a diverse and successful career across different leadership and executive roles. What inspired you to focus your work specifically on growth and wellbeing coaching?

My career has given me the privilege of leading people, shaping teams, and driving results across a variety of industries. Along the way, I noticed something: people were striving hard, but often at the expense of their health, energy, or joy. It became clear that success without wellbeing isn’t really success at all.

Personally, I’ve always been passionate about self-development and physical health. When dealing with some significant life challenges, I realised that the toolkit of wellbeing strategies I had accumulated was highly effective, and it inspired me to share these learnings with others.

Helping people grow and flourish is amongst the most meaningful work I can imagine. Even better is the ripple effect. The impact doesn’t stop with the people I work with directly, it spreads to everyone around them. When someone becomes healthier, happier, and more successful, it lifts their team, their family, and their community, too.

What makes growth and wellbeing coaching particularly important right now?

Growth and wellbeing coaching is more important now than ever. We live in a world of constant change and relentless demands. Globally, we are seeing people moving less, eating poorly, feeling stressed, disengaged and disconnected, and it’s taking a toll.

Coaching provides people with the tools, perspective, and strategies to navigate these pressures. It helps individuals find clarity, purpose, and balance in a world that’s constantly demanding more.

You’ve spoken before about how people often spend more time watching television than reflecting on their own lives. Why do you think it’s so important for people to pause, think deeply about how they want to invest their time, and make intentional choices for their future?

It’s mind-blowing when you realise how little time most people spend actually thinking about their lives. We can spend hours watching television or scrolling on our phones, yet rarely pause to ask ourselves, “What do I want from my life?”

Our time is our most valuable asset. Once gone, you do not get it back. Yet, many of us run on autopilot, following routines, reacting to demands, and postponing the things that bring us meaning, joy, or growth.

Creating space for reflection isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. When we stop and think about what we want, we start living by design, not by default.

Coaching gives people the tools and space to ask the deeper questions, cut through the noise, and begin making intentional choices.

A small shift in how you invest your time can completely transform the trajectory of your life.

When people work with you, what’s the experience that makes your coaching stand out?

It’s really a combination of things. I meet clients exactly where they are, tailoring the approach to their unique needs rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution. I bring a sense of playfulness and humour to keep the process engaging. Everything I share is grounded in proven, science-backed exercises and strategies. I also draw on insights from a broad mix of professional and personal experiences to offer perspective, guidance, and creative solutions.

I aim to fuel change that is practical, enjoyable, impactful, and sustainable.

You’re deeply passionate about leadership. If you had to give your top three tips on how to become a high-performing leader, what would they be?

  1. Be a good human: Listen, respect, and support others. Do what you say. Accept that mistakes happen, and that’s okay.

  2. Be curious and committed to growth: Engage in ongoing learning, embrace failure as part of growth, and prepare for what’s next. Stagnation creates risks for you and your team.

  3. Be clear on strategic direction, priorities, and expectations: Focus on the important stuff and provide your team with clarity on what you need from them.

Bonus tip: Remember to look after your wellbeing. Rest is critical for high performance.

What do you see as the big future challenges for coaching?

Like any industry, coaching faces challenges and opportunities. It’s one of the fastest-growing industries globally, but building quality standards and credibility remains critical. Today, anyone can call themselves a coach, which can be confusing and sometimes harmful for clients.

The world is becoming faster, more interconnected, and more overwhelming. Coaches need to be agile, working across broader issues while balancing technology, innovation, and human connection.

Making coaching more inclusive and accessible is a challenge I’m passionate about. Coaching is often seen as only for high performers, senior leaders, or the wealthy, yet its value extends to everyone. To address this, I created the happy growth coach app, making high-quality coaching tools accessible anytime, anywhere, at a low cost.

Finally, what are your two go-to tips for anyone looking to create positive change in their life?

  1. Get clear on what success means to you: Many people chase others’ expectations and feel unfulfilled. Connect to your why, clarity drives motivation and commitment.

  2. Start small, but start: Big changes rarely happen overnight. Consistent, small actions build momentum. Choose one thing you can do today.

And remember, improvement is a choice. Each day, you get to decide whether to make a change or stay where you are.

If this conversation has sparked ideas about how you or your organisation could thrive with greater growth and wellbeing, let’s connect. Together, we can explore practical ways to create healthier, happier humans and high-performing leaders.
