Her journey began in 2016 when she started her career in customer service and later transitioned into the financial industry. Despite her success in this field, Albertine always felt a stronger calling to serve others in a more profound way. Albertine Karpeh, Spiritual Midwife and Biblical Life Coach

What inspired you to become a Spiritual Midwife and Biblical Life Coach?

I remember growing up in an environment filled with broken souls. The one I noticed the most was my mother. But let me give you a little back story. In the year 1993, my family and I migrated from Liberia due to two major shifts in our lives. My father, Albert Karpeh, was assassinated, and there was also a war in Liberia at the time. When my father was killed, my mother came to the States to support her family back home, leaving me, as a newborn, and my other siblings behind. Having to navigate through the loss of her husband and leaving her family behind during a horrendous time, I am sure it was very traumatic for her. The thing is, she never healed from this season, she just carried it, and as she carried it, it started spilling all over the place like a cup filled to the very top. She always had to carry her family, even at a very young age. At the age of 17, she was married off to her first husband, who was in his 40s, and had three kids with him. It was a very abusive relationship. But even with that, my mother still kept going. This inspired me to become a Biblical Coach as well as a Spiritual Midwife because that is what my mother needed but didn’t have. I believe every Woman needs someone who can tell her when a season of her life is past due so she can peacefully start a new chapter in her life.

How does your personal journey of transformation influence your coaching approach?

To be honest, being able to go through circumstances in my life that prepared me for coaching. In the past 5 years, I had to shed layers of myself to assist others. I battled with deep abandonment wounds, neglect, and my own addictions. I had to face my shadow side head-on and get to the root of things. I cried, I screamed, and of course, I wrestled with my old identity. But I didn’t give up, I kept fighting. I honestly believe everyone has to face themselves. The ugly parts, the parts they keep hidden from the world. In order for you to become the “new you”, you have to face yourself, but no one truly wants to do that because it can be scary. It’s like a dark closet that people just throw things in but never look in.

What steps can individuals take to reconnect with their divine purpose?

The main thing a person has to do is face their demons. The thing about God is he knows you aren’t perfect, so he wants you to come to him as you are. We all have parts of us that we do not want others to see, which is considered performative as well as wearing a mask. You have to let go of who you had to become in order to fit in the narrative of others or certain dynamics to feel accepted. Once you let go of wanting to be accepted by society and understand that you were accepted by God already, then he can start aligning you with your true purpose. People have to understand it is not about what you want for yourself, it is what God has planned for you. We all have divine contracts, which means we agreed to certain things before coming to earth. We all have assignments to complete. But I want people to understand that what God has in store for you will be different from the next person.

How do you integrate faith with practical tools in your coaching sessions?

The coaching is all spirit-led. I go by what God desires for his children in the sessions. Everyone is different from one another, paying attention to what isn’t being said and acknowledging what is needed in a client’s session. The thing is, people say a lot without using their words. A lot of people don’t know that they’re expressing certain emotions because they’re still learning about themselves. I worked in customer service for several years. I use active listening and paraphrasing back to the clients as well so they know they are being heard and taking notes so I have something to go back to in future sessions. I tie the sessions back to God because the client has to understand that he is the foundation of the session.

What challenges do your clients typically face when trying to walk in their true purpose?

One of the things people struggle with the most is seeing things for what they really are. When you grow up in an abusive environment, you learn not to acknowledge the red flags in your life. Because you are taught it causes problems acknowledging what is happening around you. And romanticizing a situation. Making it look better than what it really is. Basically diminishing how much something hurt them or how bad a situation was for them. It’s almost like protecting what hurt you or what happened in order not to deal with the hurt that comes along with facing it. This is what I have seen with others as well as myself. From what I have learned, these are all trauma responses, mainly to deal with the pain.

Why do you believe self-discovery is key to helping others fulfill their calling?

Self-discovery is mainly for you to come home to oneself. Once you can come home to yourself, then you know what you like, what you don’t like, where you want to go, and who you truly want to be. The kind of people you relate to and what God what desires for you to do while you are here on earth. We all have assignments to complete while we are here. When you come home to yourself, you can figure out what those assignments are. There are people who are attached to your healing. What you went through wasn’t only for you, it was also doe the people that God called for you to help. Along your journey, you meet people who have gone through similar things as you did, and your words, product, etc., can help set them free from bondage.

How do you support individuals in overcoming obstacles on their spiritual journey?

Speaking life into their situation. A lot of people find themselves discouraged due to their circumstances in life. But if you speak life into others. I have a TikTok and an Instagram, and I recently created an E-book called The Legacy Blueprint to help others facing obstacles on their spiritual Journey. It’s literally a step-by-step guide to help people understand the journey and what they should focus on while on the journey. It’s hard being on a spiritual journey, and you don’t know how to navigate it. But having someone or people speak life into you, and current circumstances, helps with that. I had God on my journey, and everyone needs to know he is the anchor. My platforms create a safe space for others to be who they were truly supposed to be.

What role does faith play in your coaching methodology and client outcomes?

God is the anchor. He desires for his children to see things clearly. Of course, with kindness but leading with clarity. In order for others to get what they truly need out of the sessions we have, we need God in the midst of it. I cannot do anything without him in the middle it. In the session, I am providing scriptures, and I am also giving homework for the client to look at and come to our next session with something for us to work through together. Letting them know of ways for them to ground themselves and how to reconnect to their inner child as well, because they play a big role in the client's growth in their journey.

How do you ensure that your coaching leads to lasting personal and spiritual growth?

After 6 weeks or more sessions, there are follow-ups that are done with the client. It can be via phone, email, or Zoom. In the follow-up, which is usually 30 minutes to an hour, I determine what may be needed moving forward for a client. There are times when people may need an additional session. I created an e-book that the client can have on their journey and reference to if needed. Checking in with the client is very important because sometimes it is needed for the client to feel secure in their journey and not feel like they’re on their own. This is mainly where words of encouragement come in. Also, I will be implementing in-person sessions for tangibility purposes.

What message would you like to share with readers who are seeking to rediscover their purpose and walk confidently in their calling?

At some point in your walk with God, your faith has to surpass a mustard seed because he has already proven to you over and over again that he has your back and he will never stop fighting for you. God never lets us go, we just are taught to have limitations on what he is capable of, and he is a father that keeps his promises, but the question is, do you have faith that goes beyond your own understanding? The only thing that is holding you back is your faith in how possible the life you desire is, and it is possible. Learning that what your capacity is isn’t the same as his, there is no limit God is willing to go to blow your mind.
