Part One. How to Create More Energy: Strengthen Your Energy

Managing your energy and stress is critically important. Exhaustion, depletion and burnout are more recognized as we navigate through increasingly complex challenges. The World Health Organization includes burn-out in the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) as an occupational phenomenon.

High performers, CEOs and leaders understand how valuable it is to have strong, stable energy. You are driven by your passion, vision and mission. You need your energy to be as available and powerful as you are. It can be very frustrating when you are delayed from achieving your goals because you simply don’t have enough energy. Turning to stimulants and temporary energy boosters is a short-term fix that leads to highs and lows in energy, creating patterns that can be detrimental to your health and achieving your vision.

It is the quality and quantity of your energy, combined with your patterns of reactivity or responsiveness, that determine how easily you become distracted, drained or depleted. The less distracted and drained you are, the more energy you have to live the life you want.

Mindset tools are an important part of achieving goals. But deeper than mindset are two fundamental factors: the strength of your energy and the connection with your inner knowing and wisdom.

Let’s begin with understanding your energy, the most fundamental determinant of your lasting success and the quality and length of your life.

Understanding Your Energy

Your energy, your life force, is the foundation of your vitality and well-being. It is like the trunk of your tree that supports both your roots and your branches. It keeps you centered, grounded and energized.

Deep in the body is the path of your core energy, your connection between “Heaven and Earth.” It runs along your spine and creates your 7 chakras, the energy centers that send energy through your meridians. These meridians are the energetic pathways that feed every cell in your body. The meridians are like rivers flowing down a mountain. The physical landscape influences the path of the rivers. But the rivers also shape the mountain, as we can see in the Grand Canyon. The body’s energy systems and physical systems support each other. When they are in balance and aligned, a high state of mind-body-spirit can be achieved, creating abundant energy.

Your energy is your personal signature of infinite universal energy. It is the ultimate source of your power. Your ability to create a deep visceral connection with universal energy will determine the strength, stability and sustainability of your energy. Scientists have determined there are over 100 billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy and over 100 billion galaxies in our universe. That is a lot of energy. The universe is providing an endless source of energy for you. When you become an empty vessel, living a Centered, Connected, Conscious™ Life, you continually receive a powerful flow of this energy. Then you use your intuition, inner knowing and intellect to direct that energy in the way you desire.

The notion of rest and boundaries is becoming more acceptable for high achievers and conscious leaders. In my Capacity Principle: Know Your Limit, Live Within It™, I teach clients how to recognize when they have reached their energetic capacity and manage their energy and stress, before they hit the wall of depletion. In doing so, you respect the need to consolidate your energy. Then you can rejuvenate your energy and expand your capacity to be more, do more and live more. As a high performer and a Renaissance Woman, I love being in my flow, sharing my gifts and talents and getting a lot done without pushing myself to exhaustion. I don’t need to do less. I need to create more energy.

Living a limitless life is possible when you recognize the 4 pillars of health: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Notice that mental is only ¼ of the foundation of your life. But they all rely on your energy. The ancient universal principle “Everything Is Energy” always applies. As you strengthen your energy, you create the foundation of a limitless life, evolving in your own time and in your own way, without being told what to do or how to do it. You are the “captain of your ship.” You just need a strong vessel and a good internal navigation system to support your journey.

Five Demands On Your Energy

In learning how to manage your energy and stress and avoid burnout, you are entering into a more conscious relationship with yourself. You are learning the art of living, knowing when to apply yourself and when to pull back, so that your energy always remains strong, stable and self-sustaining.

Your core energy has a big responsibility to power every aspect of who you are. It must always be strong enough to meet its major demands of:

  1. Basic biological functioning

  2. Mental-emotional requirements

  3. External stressors

  4. Providing substantial and powerful energy to heal a chronic illness

  5. Surplus energy for vitality and abundance of living.

Wow, that is a lot of energy to supply! Abundant energy is not the frenetic, unstable energy of a maxed-out nervous system, the “tired and wired” syndrome that causes you to crash. Abundant energy and vitality is your inner power that arises from the strength and stability of your core energy.

8 Ways To Strengthen Your Energy

You demand a lot of your energy. Respect it. Rejuvenate it. Regularly. Regenerating your energy should be as fundamental as filling up the gas tank of your car. Take the time to do it.

You can strengthen your energy in a variety of ways, for both daily balancing and for deeper regeneration.

Here are just a few ways to keep your energy strong, stable and sustainable.

For Daily Balance:

1. Sleep and Rest: Sleep doesn’t have to be long. It needs to be deep and regenerative. Resting by taking short breaks throughout the day, and power naps, may be beneficial.

2. Exercise: Exercise that you enjoy but does not deplete you.

3. Healthy Diet: Less food is more beneficial. Chew your food 25 - 50 x per mouthful. Sit down and breathe while eating. Abstain from eating or drinking 1 – 3 hours before you go to sleep.

4. Breathing: Consciously breathe throughout the day.

5. Holistic Coaching: Become Aware of Your Energy:

a. Become aware of the cause-and-effect in your life. Be honest with yourself when you do this. Ask yourself the following questions: When do I feel depleted and why? When do I feel energized and why?

For Deeper Regeneration and Healing:

6. Healing Foods: Foods that detoxify and strengthen. Healing foods, such as miso, daikon radish, kukicha tea, and umeboshi plum, can be added to any diet

7. Energy Healing: Reiki, acupuncture, shiatsu and other energy modalities that support the deeper flow of energy in the body

8. Body Work: Chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage and other modalities that support deep structural alignment and integration

Through strengthening your energy, you expand the energetic capacity of your cells, create more energy and support healing and personal growth. You are able to manage your energy and stress, avoid exhaustion and burnout, and reclaim your birthright as a sovereign being. You become the conscious leader of your life and a conscious leader of the world.
