Lulu and Phil are co-creating a transformative Holistic Wellness Retreat in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Lulu, a seasoned Holistic Therapist, blends ancient healing practices, while Phil’s journey of resilience and humanitarian work fuels their shared vision to empower others to heal, grow, and reconnect with their true essence.

“How can I feel my own energy?” I used to wonder when I was a teenager. Back then, people didn’t talk much about energy and the power within ourselves. Today, it seems to be a fairly popular topic. We are all energy. But can people really feel it? Do people really believe in it? “To see is to believe” is what people say.

Here is the secret: you don’t need to believe to experience it. You simply need to awaken to it.
Awaken the invisible: A journey into your own energy
In every session I guide, whether through meditation, sound healing, therapy sessions, or energy work, I like to help people connect with their own energies and protect their auric field.
Some are familiar with this, some are exploring for the first time. Would you like to explore yours?
Place your palms together in front of your chest, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Now gently separate your hands just slightly, then bring them closer again. Slowly repeat.
Perhaps you feel warmth. Or tingling. Or a subtle current flowing between your palms. Perhaps you feel nothing yet, that’s okay too. Energy isn’t always obvious. But it is always there.
Why protect this field?
“The human is in fact more luminous than the inanimate aura and changes with every passing thought, feeling and emotion.” – Billy Roberts, The Magic of Aura
Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt at ease with someone or unsettled for no obvious reason?
Your aura felt their presence long before your mind caught up.
Your energy field is in constant communication with the world, revealing you to others, and others to you.
And like any precious field, it needs tending. Protecting your aura is part of protecting your inner temple.
The rainbow inside
Throughout your body, whirlpools of energy spiral; these are your chakras. Each chakra resonates with a frequency, a colour, and a vibration.
“The seven major chakras carry the colours of the rainbow spectrum.” – Ruth White, Working with Your Chakras
These are subtle energies around every human being that can be photographed by the process known as Kirlian photography, which can even diagnose physical or emotional states. We could go deeper into this topic.
And beyond the chakras, ancient traditions that understood the flow of energy remind us of the same principle under many names: Qi in China, Prana in India.
We are, in every sense, energy made visible. As Vikrampal says, ‘Our body is a symphony of frequencies.’
Energy remembers
Each of your 37 billion cells is like a tiny battery, storing memories of all your experiences. Positive or negative, harmonious or jarring, they imprint on your cellular waters.
“Our physical body is a terrain of approximately 70% liquid. The Hum vibration creates a wave-like motion in our liquidity that creates a rearrangement of our liquid homeostasis.” – Vickie Dodd, Healing Through Sound
That’s why words, music, environments, even your own self-talk, shape you at a cellular level.
As Masaru Emoto showed, water responds to vibration. And since you are mostly water, the frequencies you surround yourself with matter more than you know.
And because our bodies are so fluid and responsive:
“Qi is crucial in both the production and transportation of Body Fluids, and it’s responsible for holding fluids in place. On the other hand, if Body Fluids become deficient, then this can damage Qi; thus, Body Fluids are themselves essential for maintaining healthy Qi.”
The two, Qi and Body Fluids, are inseparable. Nurture one, and you nourish the other.
Move, breathe, hum
Energy flows where intention goes, and it thrives on movement.
Step outside. Dance. Take a deep, conscious breath. Hum, feel the resonance travelling through your body, massaging your cells, unblocking what’s stuck, releasing what you are struggling to express.
“The Qi energy of the universe enters through the etheric energy level, accessing the body through the major and minor acupuncture points and flowing to the cellular structures by way of the energy gradients and the concentrations that we term the meridian system. Thus, when disharmony appears in the body, it first manifests itself at the etheric level. Physical illness comes at the end of a chain of energetic processes.” – Tom Williams ,PhD, Complete Chinese Medicine
Shaolin breathing techniques teach that the mind and breath can guide the flow of Qi. And when your Qi flows freely, harmony and health follow.
“Qi must flow through all meridians freely and evenly. A blockage in a meridian leads to disharmony and disease in the body.” – Ruth Hall, Complete Guide to Reflexology
When energy is abundant, you gain power and focus:
“When Qi is abundant, one has true power. Disease and depression vanish. Longevity is increased.” – David Carradine, The Spirit of Shaolin
Sound transforms matter
The ancients called sound the original medicine. Tibetan singing bowls, gong baths, and chanting all awaken and realign your frequency.
Even Pythagoras, the “Father of Music Therapy,” recognised that:
“Musical medicine” could soothe both animals and people, affecting their senses and emotions.
We are on a constant conscious evolution. Our body is a living consciousness, not just matter. We are vibrational beings, and sound is a vibrational channel that shifts our frequency.
The universe responds to you
The truth is simple and profound: Energy is you. Your intention. Your mind. Your awareness.
When you choose to shift your thoughts and set a new frequency, life shifts with you.
“When you set your intention & frequency in a certain way, you create the world in which you live the multiverse responds to your energy field & frequency” – Sia-Lanu Estrella, Rainbow Tablets
Even small daily actions, repeated for at least 21 days, can rewire your habits and create new realities.
Be gentle with yourself. Keep choosing again. Every time you choose awareness over autopilot, you reclaim your power.
“Where attention goes, is where energy flows, and conscious intentional actions create habits and new realities.”
Try this now
Sit on the floor, knees bent, arms wrapped around your legs, head down, and say aloud:
“I am powerful.”
Notice how you feel.
Now stand tall, shoulders open, head high, arms wide, and say again:
“I am powerful!”
Can you feel the difference? Posture and intention shift your energy instantly.
You are not a passive receiver of energy; you are its creator, its conductor, its magician.
The choice is yours
The flow of your Qi is waiting for you to open the channels. Your cells are waiting for you to set the tone. The universe is waiting for your clear intention.
“Thoughts create emotions, and emotions create frequencies that impact the physical.”
So, what reality do you want to create?
You are energy. You are aware. You are powerful.
The journey begins the moment you decide to feel it.
Just remember. Energy is you!
