As a coach, you are always looking for ways to improve your skills and increase your value to your clients. You may have decided on a niche to specialize in, been dedicating yourself to continual learning, worked with a mentor coach, and used assessments to learn more about your clients – all of those strategies are invaluable to a coach. But one of the best ways to achieve success is by going beyond coaching certification and becoming a credentialed coach. In this article, we will explore the value of being a credentialed coach and how holding a coaching credential can help you win!

1. Commitment

First and foremost, becoming a credentialed coach demonstrates your commitment to your profession. By earning a credential, you show that you have invested time, money, and effort into your education and training. Not only does this validate your expertise, but it also shows your clients that you are serious about your profession and committed to providing them with the best possible coaching. Think of it as earning a degree in a chosen field at a university. You may have a wealth of knowledge without it, but a degree is tangible proof of that knowledge, the effort you have put into it, and your commitment.

2. Opportunities

Furthermore, being a credentialed coach opens up new opportunities for you. You can apply for positions that require a certain level of certification or a credential, giving you access to a wider range of clients and industries. Additionally, many organizations only work with credentialed coaches, so having a credential can help you expand your client base and increase your income.

3. Distinction

Another benefit of being a credentialed coach is that it helps you stand out in a crowded field. There are many coaches out there, but not all of them have a credential. By earning a credential, you differentiate yourself from other coaches and establish yourself as an expert in your field. Now your distinction works for you, helping you attract more clients and command higher fees.

In my own experience, becoming a credentialed coach has helped me win in several ways. First, it has given me a greater sense of confidence in my coaching abilities. Knowing that I have met certain standards and have been evaluated by my peers has given me a sense of validation and reassurance that I'm on the right track.

Second, being a credentialed coach has opened up new doors for me. I've been able to work with clients in different industries and at higher levels of management, which has not only increased my income but has also allowed me the opportunity to grow my skills and expertise.

Finally, being a credentialed coach has helped me build stronger relationships with my clients. They trust that I have the knowledge and skills to help them achieve their goals, and they feel more confident in the coaching process, knowing that I've been vetted by an independent organization.

Becoming a credentialed coach is a valuable investment in your career. You get to demonstrate your commitment to your profession, open yourself up to new opportunities, and set yourself apart in a crowded field while gaining greater confidence and stronger client relationships. If you are serious about taking your coaching career to the next level and going beyond coach certification, and earning a credential working with a credentialed mentor coach is an excellent first step.
