Mental Health Practice

YourPlace Therapy, founded by Alyssa Vu, a therapist and second-generation Asian-American, offers a tailored approach to mental health care that prioritizes accessibility and cultural respect, especially for the AAPI community. Launched amid the pandemic’s shift to online services, YourPlace adapted quickly by transforming clients’ homes into safe spaces for therapy, embodying the mission: "Let's start with where you're at."

Holding an MSW from Columbia University and currently advancing her doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Alyssa specializes in exploring the nuanced relationships within Vietnamese immigrant families and their influence on mental health. YourPlace Therapy, a stronghold for culturally respectful care, champions the AAPI community’s needs, striving to amplify their voices in mental health discussions.

YourPlace is part of a comprehensive network of AAPI clinicians in NYC, sharing resources and knowledge to empower clients and foster community well-being.
