Nelum Dharmapriya

Doctor & Health Coach

Dr Nelum Dharmapriya (MBChB, MRCP, DRCOG, DPPF, FRACGP) is a Brisbane-based General Practitioner with 30 years of experience in women’s health, hormonal balance, and metabolic wellbeing. Born in Sri Lanka, she has lived, studied, and worked across the UK and Australia. Her multicultural background brings a deep understanding of different cultures, lifestyles, and health challenges—making her approach inclusive, adaptable, and relatable to women everywhere.

Nelum graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1995 and worked as a GP partner in the UK before moving to Brisbane, Australia in 2009. In 2012, she co-founded Narangba Doctors, a thriving medical centre known for putting people first through compassionate, evidence-based care.

Her own struggles with perimenopause, weight gain, and insulin resistance led her to explore the science of metabolic and hormonal health. She reversed her symptoms through nutrition, strength training, and lifestyle shifts—an experience that reshaped her medical practice and deepened her empathy for midlife women.

Nelum believes that true, lasting wellness lies at the intersection of science, lifestyle, and mindset. This philosophy guides her work across both medicine and coaching—addressing not just symptoms, but the root causes of imbalance.

She is the founder of Whole Food Revolution, a holistic health coaching platform for women 40+, co-led with renowned life coach Ronit Baras. Together, they support women to overcome fatigue, cravings, and hormonal chaos through practical, personalised strategies grounded in nutrition, mindset, and sustainable lifestyle change.

Nelum is also a respected GP educator in intrauterine contraception, delivering hands-on training to doctors across Australia. Through her clinical care, coaching, and teaching, she empowers women to reclaim their energy, clarity, and confidence—at every stage of life.
