Meagan Hruska

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Meagan Hruska, MS, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), leader, and innovator in the mental health field, evolving and pushing the field forward through her insight gained from years of clinical experience practicing and providing mental health-based services in numerous settings. Currently, she owns a private practice and has been providing counseling and mental health-based services for the last 10 years. She also specializes in incorporating experiential learning and somatic-based practice in her work, as well as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, where clients get to experience personal transformation in the company of horses and nature.

She is a co-founder of Dusty Boots Barn, which provides mental health-based services utilizing equine-assisted learning to the community. Dusty Boots Barn provides therapy for clients and training/workshops for other professionals in the mental health, healthcare, and educational fields. In addition to her current role, Meagan was previously an Adjunct Professor at a university, teaching classes and working in the university counseling centers, treating and advising students, faculty, and staff.

She has additional experience in residential and inpatient units, outpatient treatment centers, federal probation, state prison, and county jail. Meagan was honored by South Carolina’s Department of Corrections for outstanding work on the anger management program she developed and implemented for incarcerated individuals. She also served on a community prevention and education team that worked to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse with a team of law enforcement and local non-profit agencies.

Further, Meagan currently has a partnership with Missouri Valley Journeyman Apprentice Training College (JATC). Together, they work with Missouri Valley JATC in expanding mental health awareness and assistance to their journeymen, linemen, and apprentices across the Midwest. Meagan presented on mental health to the top apprentice instructors in the country at the 2nd Annual Outside Industry Training Summit in 2025.

In all her work and services, though, Meagan’s heart lies in helping people reconnect and become embodied in the essence of who they are, both personally and professionally.
