Katja Christine Strube

Grief Counselor & Author

Katja has dedicated her life to helping others overcome feelings of disconnection, grief, and not belonging. Through her own experiences of trauma, loss, and profound life challenges, she discovered a renewed sense of purpose in supporting others with compassion, understanding, and hope.

Her journey began with volunteering at a local hospice, where she provided comfort and companionship to individuals and families navigating some of life's most difficult moments. This experience deepened her passion for helping others and continues to shape her therapeutic approach today.

Katja combines extensive academic training with rich personal experience, allowing her to understand her clients' struggles from multiple perspectives. Drawing from an eclectic, client-centered approach, she creates a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered to heal.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Katja served as the Clinic Coordinator at a respiratory clinic, demonstrating resilience, leadership, and unwavering dedication during an unprecedented time. The loss of her mother to lung fibrosis in 2019 profoundly influenced both her personal and professional journey, inspiring her to write a self-help book for individuals and families caring for loved ones with life-threatening illnesses.

In 2021, Katja relocated to Vancouver Island, where she continued serving her community, first working in a funeral home and later as Services Coordinator at a local hospice society. Building upon her experience as a life coach, she completed her counseling therapist degree and established her private practice, Life-in-Motion, where she continues to support individuals navigating grief, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, and emotional disconnection.

Katja describes her life as one shaped by loss, disconnection and the feeling of not belonging. Rather than viewing these experiences as obstacles, she carries them with her as reminders of the resilience, compassion, and wisdom they have cultivated. They have become the foundation of her work and her ability to connect deeply with those she serves.

Known for her warmth, intuition, and exceptional ability to recognize and respond to her clients' emotional needs, Katja believes healing begins when people feel safe, seen, and accepted. Her goal is to help each person rediscover hope, reconnect with themselves and others, and experience a lasting sense of belonging, resilience, and being deeply loved.
