Karen Bulinski Mathison
CEO, Grief Coach, Death Doula
Karen Bulinski Mathison is the CEO and founder of The Naked Grief, LLC, a grief coach, death doula, content creator, and passionate advocate for meaningful healing. With a master's degree in mental health and wellness (focused on grief and bereavement), plus certifications in death doula care, life coaching, art therapy, and trauma first aid, Karen blends professional expertise with hard-won wisdom from her own journey through loss—including the deaths of her husband, father, grandparents, and last love.
Her approach is raw, authentic, and deeply relatable, offering a safe space for people to explore the realities of grief without judgment or clinical jargon. Karen's mission is to uncover the stages of grief, empower individuals to find strength and courage, and provide real alternatives to "final escape" by transforming pain into meaning. She is also the creator of the Grief Garden children's stories, using storytelling to help kids and adults alike navigate loss with hope and understanding.
Based in Camden, Delaware, Karen leads with her heart—combining evidence-based tools, creative expression, and genuine connection. Through workshops, coaching, and her online community, she helps others embrace their grief journeys and discover the possibility of growth and purpose on the other side.
