Jean Short is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Director of Wise-Mind DBT Brisbane and Brisbane EMDR Clinic. With over fifteen years of clinical experience, Jean specialises in working with individuals experiencing complex trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder, and emotional dysregulation. Her practice integrates advanced training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), and Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to deliver structured, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

Currently undertaking postgraduate study in Sexology, Jean brings a nuanced understanding of identity, sexuality, and relational wellbeing to her therapeutic work. She is deeply committed to trauma-informed and gender-affirming practice that honours the dignity and lived experience of each person. Across both her practices, Jean leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping clients build meaningful, connected, and values-aligned lives.
