Jamee Culbertson
Senior Instructor, Teacher Trainer
Jamee Culbertson, Alexander Technique Teacher-Trainer | Senior Instructor | Taoist Practices SpecialistJamee brings nearly four decades of experience in the healing and performing arts, blending ancient Taoist practices, the Alexander Technique, and spiritual healing to guide individuals on a path of deep personal transformation. Her journey began in the world of theatre arts, where she cultivated a love for expressive movement and presence. That passion naturally led her to the study and performance of music, deepening her understanding of the body as a living instrument of expression and energy. Her first foray into teaching came not in a studio or classroom, but on the slopes—as a ski instructor in Vermont, where she first discovered the joy of helping others connect with their bodies, balance, and breath. Today, Jamee is a Senior Instructor at the Universal Tao Boston School of Taoist Practices, where she teaches Yang-style Tai Chi, Qigong (Chi Kung), and Taoist meditation techniques. Her teachings are rooted in the Universal Healing Tao system as passed down by Grandmaster Mantak Chia, emphasizing energy cultivation, internal balance, and harmony with the rhythms of nature. She brings a unique synthesis of disciplines to her work, creating a holistic and transformative experience for her students. Jamee is also an internationally certified Alexander Technique Instructor and serves as a respected teacher-trainer at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Her teaching weaves together the subtle awareness of the Alexander Technique with the energetic depth of Taoist practices, offering students tools to release tension, expand consciousness, and realign with their natural vitality. Whether working with performing artists, spiritual seekers, or individuals facing physical or emotional challenges, Jamee’s approach is rooted in compassion, clarity, and presence. In addition to her regular classes and workshops, Jamee teaches Tai Chi at Harvard University and has contributed her expertise to the Home Base program at Massachusetts General Hospital, supporting veterans recovering from PTSD. She is also a dedicated community wellness advocate, participating in events like "Love Yourself Day" at Rosie’s Place, a women’s shelter in Boston, where she shares accessible healing practices with underserved populations. Jamee holds certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Heart Association, reflecting her ongoing commitment to health and safety in her teaching environments.Throughout her career, Jamee has remained committed to lifelong learning and service. Her unique ability to integrate movement, mindfulness, and energy work has touched the lives of countless students locally and internationally. Whether guiding a meditation, leading a Tai Chi sequence, or supporting a client through the Alexander Technique, Jamee meets each individual with warmth, wisdom, and a deep respect for the unfolding human journey.
