Performance Consultant and Keynote Speaker

Eric McAlister spent 15 years in elite sport, between being a collegiate basketball player at the highest levels in the United States and internationally as a professional basketball player in Europe and Australia.
 
In 2016, after the loss of his mother and early into his professional career, Eric battled through mental health difficulties as he struggled to grieve the loss of his mother. In 2017, Eric went into cardiac arrest in the middle of a game. Shortly after, Eric was cut by his team, sent back to America and told by numerous doctors he would never play again.
 
After a further spiral, Eric's mental health had him at a breaking point and he was ready to give up. After a failed suicide attempt, the very next morning Eric was presented with an opportunity to play in Australia, where he would go on to play for six more seasons.
 
Since retiring, Eric founded Empire Sport Performance, where he has taken everything he learned in his career and his experiences with mental health, and have created measurable systems to help both athlete's and organizations alike, perform better sustainably in their pursuits of excellence.
 
Eric has also begun his career as an Internationally sought after Keynote Speaker, helping to educate as many people as his reach will allow to better understand how they think, handle pressure and shape their own environments. As Eric says, we all deserve the opportunity to achieve the goals we set for ourselves and winning well should always be at the top of our list.
