Eljin Keeling-Johnson

Personal Development Coach

I began my working life as a bricklayer, building walls for others while my own world was falling apart. By adulthood, depression and addiction to drugs and alcohol had taken hold, and eventually my parents asked me to leave home. The years that followed were dark — a cycle of prison cells, hospital beds, and the streets, marked by multiple overdoses and the constant shadow of suicidal thoughts. After more than a decade lost in darkness, I finally reached out for help. That single decision sparked my revival and set me on a path of transformation, giving me the empathy, insight, and resilience I now bring to every client.

Today, I am a proud parent and grandparent, living fully and fearlessly. I thrive on skydiving, cliff-jumping, breathwork, and meditation. Nature is my sanctuary; hiking, walking, and climbing the world’s highest mountains help me find balance between doing, being, and living.

“Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people.” – Carl Jung

Leaving the construction industry, I immersed myself in wellbeing. I started as a gym instructor, then worked in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, becoming an addiction counselling psychotherapist and eventually managing therapy departments. In 2017, I founded Connection Wellbeing Services with National Lottery funding, running programs including yoga, fitness, art, outdoor activities, and therapy — creating real, lasting impact in the community.

I later founded Connection Coaching, integrating my lived experience with over 16 years of practice and more than 16,000 hours of transformative work. Using Psychotherapy, NLP, EMDR, transformational breathwork, somatic release, and life coaching, I guide clients through the conscious, subconscious, and unconscious. Through my Alignment Method programme, I help people release what holds them back, rediscover their true selves, and step fully into their purpose — to connect, grow, and thrive.
