Anele Griessel

Occupational Therapist

Anele Griessel is an internationally trained Occupational Therapist, educator, clinical supervisor, and expert witness with over 25 years of specialist experience supporting children, young people, families, and professionals across health, education, and social care. She is known for translating complex neuroscience and sensory theory into practical, life-changing strategies that restore confidence, regulation, and participation.

Anele’s work centres on one powerful idea: understanding your unique sensory preferences changes everything. Through her clinical practice, teaching, and writing, she helps individuals recognise how everyday sensory experiences – noise, movement, touch, visual input, pace – shape behaviour, emotion, and performance. By making simple, intentional adjustments to daily activities, Anele shows how people can reduce overwhelm, build resilience, and reconnect with their natural capacity for growth and wellbeing.

She holds a degree in occupational therapy, postgraduate qualifications in Developmental Disorders, advanced certification in Ayres Sensory Integration, and is currently completing an MSc in Advanced Practice. Her career spans senior clinical roles in specialist schools and services, founding multiple therapy clinics in the UK, curriculum development for national education programmes, and delivering teaching internationally to clinicians, educators, and parents.

As an expert witness, Anele has contributed to hundreds of complex SEND assessments and tribunals, ensuring that children’s needs are accurately understood and effectively supported. Alongside this, she remains deeply committed to mentorship, supervision, and professional development within the occupational therapy community.

Through her work, Anele invites people to live in a way that is both joyful and strong – where sensory understanding becomes the foundation for resilience, clarity, and meaningful participation in everyday life.
