- Dylan Heidt, Recovery Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
A touring musician, songwriter, record producer and even the lead A&R at a prominent Electronic Dance Music label once upon a time...these are just a few of the titles that Dylan Heidt has had the privilege of calling his own. But behind the nights on the road that never seemed to end, a catalogue of songwriting and production credits that have amassed well over 1,000,000 streams and the chart-topping singles that he had signed during his time as an A&R at one of the biggest Electronic Dance Music labels in the world...something didn't feel quite right. "I think from the outside looking in, I was living the dream. Everything that I had told everyone that I was going to do from the time I was a teenager until I was in my mid-twenties, I actually went out and accomplished." When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and stopped the world in its tracks, Heidt found himself (like so many others) with a lot of free time on his hands. "It was great until it wasn't. Not only was I dealing with my professional life being upended, but I also went through some really gnarly personal battles during that time too. By the time that the world had started to open back up, I was almost completely checked out." Realizing that he no longer wished to play as large of a role within music as he once had, Heidt stepped back and again found himself with a surplus of free time on his hands. "The first thing I did was quit drinking alcohol. I was self-aware enough to know that the majority of my problems either stemmed from my drinking, or were only being exacerbated by my going out and partying every night, so I knew that it had to go." Having committed himself completely to the idea of this new life that he had envisioned for himself, Heidt soon found himself back in the gym everyday and furthering his education in areas of his life that had long been neglected. "The first thing I did was get certified as a Holistic Health and Wellness coach. From there I obtained my certification as a Recovery Specialist and that's been my main area of focus since late 2023." As Heidt continues to navigate the world of Recovery Coaching, he has also taken on the challenge of becoming an NCSF Certified Personal Trainer and launched Avg. Instinct, a project that he says is "for everyone else, as much as it is me." "I want Avg. Instinct to become a place where creatives from every walk of life can convene and share ideas, freely, and without judgement. Obviously, it is my personal brand at the end of the day, but I know it has the potential to be much more than that as well." - Yujia Zhu, Social Entrepreneur, Author, Executive Coach , Senior Level Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Yujia Zhu is a visionary changemaker and the trailblazing founder of For A Safer Space (FASS)(forasaferspace.org)—the world’s first fully AI-driven nonprofit organization—and the creator of FASSLING (fassling.ai), the world’s first comprehensive skills coaching platform offering unlimited, free, holistic human care support globally. A proud Chinese Canadian originally from the historic city of Nanjing, Mainland China, Yujia’s journey fuses technical innovation with compassionate activism, offering a bold blueprint for the future of socially responsible leadership. With over twelve years of experience in the humanitarian sector, Yujia is widely recognized as a bold social innovator, ethical systems thinker, and fearless advocate for restorative justice and inclusive service design. Her work has impacted millions through anti-oppressive storytelling, transformative holistic education, and visionary platforms that reimagine human care in the digital age. By the age of 22, she introduced a groundbreaking policy proposal at Toronto City Hall and was selected for the city’s extremely competitive elite Toronto Protégé Program: Future Female Politicians Leadership Program. By 23, she was lobbying for the rights of incarcerated individuals and tenants in New York. A graduate of Columbia University and New York University’s ECOC program, Yujia expanded her advocacy globally through her work at the United Nations. She later established the Yu Jia Zhu Scholarship at her undergraduate alma mater, the University of Toronto, to uplift international students from China. At just 26, she launched FASS, challenging the nonprofit industrial complex with a radical, mission-first model of public service delivery. Through her founding leadership at FASS, she personally initiated a petition advocating for the inclusion of mental health services in Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Thanks to her dedicated political lobbying efforts across Canada, the petition garnered nearly 10,000 signatures and was successfully presented at the Ontario Legislative Assembly. She also served as the co-organizer and master of ceremonies for Canada’s largest Stop Asian Hate solidarity rally in history. Later, Yujia continues to lead in the development of AI-powered humanitarian solutions. She pioneered the SFADNM management model and created FASSLING.AI, a revolutionary platform that integrates emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence to offer accessible, culturally sensitive care with compassion and integrity. Recently, she established the Yu Jia Zhu Scholarship at her coaching and consulting graduate program alma mater, New York University, to support other bold, innovative problem solvers like her. With a multidisciplinary background spanning religious philosophy, psychology, computer science, and business administration, Yujia has studied and worked across four continents and contributed to over 40 nonprofit initiatives worldwide. A multidisciplinary scholar with over 20 publications, she is the author of Boundless Compassion in the Digital Age: The Intersection of Solo-Founder AI-Driven Nonprofit Mode (SFADNM) and Buddhist Dāna and Founder Mode: Breaking Free from the Nonprofit Industrial Complex, both of which are freely available on Apple Books. Founder Mode recently ranked among the Top 50 Free Books in the Leadership & Management category. Yujia’s work has earned her recognition as a thought leader in the nonprofit and philanthropy sector, including her appointment to the Forbes Nonprofit Council and her service on the board of Community Boards, the longest-running mediation, conflict resolution, and restorative justice center in the United States. She has also earned herself recognition as an established science-based thought leader in the coaching sector when she was invited to join the most prestigious professional fellow membership at the Institute of Coaching (IOC), based at McLean Hospital, a member of Mass General Brigham and the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School. A rare blend of heart, intellect, and courage, Yujia Zhu exemplifies what it means to lead with both purpose and precision. Her life’s work is dedicated to building a more compassionate, equitable, and sustainable world—one bold, effective innovation at a time. - Aleksandra Nikolajev Jones, Choreographer, Producer & Fundraiser, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Aleksandra Nikolajev-Jones began her career as a classically trained ballet dancer in Belgrade during the 1980s, when the city was a vibrant hub of culture and arts. Her early career began with Radio Television Serbia (RTS) the National Broadcaster, working on educational programmes for and made by children. With her strong passion for performance, she thrived on the stage until her first pregnancy—a pivotal moment that reshaped her creative journey. At a time when pregnant professionals were rarely engaged in the arts, Aleksandra began to explore the profound connection between creativity, pregnancy, and motherhood. This spark eventually evolved into the Gravida Collective, an initiative that reimagines the role of creativity during significant life transitions. Her journey through motherhood fuelled her determination to expand her impact globally, bringing the Gravida Collective to international communities, while advocating for creativity as a tool for empowerment and connection. As the Ambassador for Serbia and Partner for the Wise Women Network, a platform promoting global gender equality, Shout Celebration, opening the conversation between mental health & the arts and her work with the Irish Film & TV UK, whose subscribers are in excess of 2,000 individuals, she focuses on building networks that amplify voices, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in the arts and media. Her early career included collaborations with TED - Theatre for Dialogue, CARE International, CEDEUM, and UNICEF’s School Without Violence initiative, which reached over 200 schools under the leadership of her mentor, Ljubica Beljanski Ristić. These experiences, combined with her own resilience as a single mother raising three children, shaped her vision to use creativity as a transformative force in the lives of individuals and communities. Aleksandra’s global impact with all of her collaborations and partnerships (including Wise Women, Shout Celebration & Irish Film & TV UK), is defined by her dedication to expanding the reach of the Gravida Collective reflecting a commitment to fostering inclusivity, connection and well-being while championing the transformative power of the arts across cultures, sectors, and communities worldwide. - Brooke Elizabeth Scarcella, Inner-Healing Life Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Brooke Elizabeth is an Inner-Healing Coach, who specializes in connection to self and spirituality. Her teachings center around self-discovery, self-worth, self-acceptance, and coming back to the root of who you truly are at your core, to become the outward expression of embodied authenticity and self-proclaimed power. Brooke's ultimate hope is for everyone to connect with themselves deeply, so that as many humans as possible can bridge the gap that separates us from ourselves and our inner knowing. In addition to her mission as a coach, she is an author, podcast host, reiki practitioner, yoga teacher, and NEDA (National Eating Disorder Awareness) affiliate. When Brooke faced the impacts of her early childhood traumas as an adult, she felt lost, hopeless, and disconnected from her body. When she decided to seek out help for her mental health and begin the road to recovery from an eating disorder, something inside of her began to whisper. Little by little, a slight calling emerged from within, leading her to believe that her life was meant for so much more beyond the limitations and boxes she'd placed herself in. She made the radical decision to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so that she could learn to transform her trauma and pains into her purpose, into her power. This pivotal shift led Brooke down the path to where she is today, leading a life of connection to herself on the deepest level. By being willing to do the inner work and take the journey back home to herself, she now lives an empowered life that is limitless. With a mission to help guide others to truly meet themselves fully and connect with the conscious understanding of innate internal worth, Brooke remains a trusted, authentic soul, highly admired by the people she touches the hearts of. Her mantra is "Know yourself, love yourself, trust yourself, discover yourself, meet yourself again and again because it all starts with you."
