  • Denton Hugh Wilson, Author, Speaker & Men’s Health Advocate, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Denton Hugh Wilson is an author, speaker and men’s health advocate whose life journey has been shaped by resilience, faith, identity and a determination to turn adversity into purpose. Raised by his grandmother in Jamaica until the age of nine, Denton believed she was his mother. His life changed dramatically when he was sent to England to live with his biological mother, whom he barely knew. Struggling with language, education, belonging and the loss of the life he loved in Jamaica, his early years in England were deeply challenging. As a teenager, Denton began experiencing recurring dreams of a man calling to him from Jamaica. Although he had been told that his father was dead, something within him compelled him to keep searching. He returned to Jamaica several times looking for answers. At the age of 42, his search led him to Manchester, Jamaica, where an extraordinary encounter on a hillside finally brought him face to face with his father. Those experiences helped shape Denton’s belief in perseverance, hope and the importance of finding one’s voice. Today, he channels those values into his work as an author and speaker. His educational children’s books explore safety, bullying, honesty, kindness, courage, responsibility and positive choices, with the aim of helping children learn important life lessons through storytelling. Denton is also committed to men’s health and prostate cancer awareness, encouraging men to break the silence around their health, ask questions and seek support. Through his writing, speaking and advocacy, his mission is to transform lived experience into education, conversation and hope for others. • Erika Davey, PA-C, Enneagram-based Mindset Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Erika Davey is a coach, mentor, and fellow human who works to overcome her own struggles every day. With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, the last 18 years as a Physician Assistant, Erika thought she knew how the body worked. Then, six years ago, she found herself exhausted, consumed with chronic abdominal pain, and full of anxiety. After trying everything offered by physicians and nutritionists, she began to realize that classic Western medicine doesn’t address the connection between mental and emotional wellness and physical symptoms and pain. She didn’t want to shun her medical training, but was intrigued to learn more, so she pursued a Health Coaching Certificate and extra education in Gut Health, Hormone Health, and Emotional Eating. She explored the world of self-healing, chakra health, meditation, and energy management in an effort to calm her mind and heal her spirit. And, she dove deeply into the Enneagram, fascinated by the insight available into our secret fears and why we do what we do. She is elated at what she discovered — a combination of the wisdom and insight of the Enneagram, the benefits of science and Western medicine, and energy management and self-healing techniques. By increasing her self-awarness and learning how to set and hold boundaries, she has been able to trade anxiety and overwhelm for resilience and calm. Now, Erika uses the Enneagram to help her clients achieve self-acceptance and enjoy a sense of peace and contentment in everyday life. Cindy Castelyns is a holistic coach and energetic treatment practitioner. Cindy Castelyns is passionate about helping her clients to feel good about themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. An important part of her coaching focuses on the emotional aspect, particularly the inner child in relationship to others, as this facilitates the process of releasing blocked emotions and trauma stored in the body.   Perpetual failure in her professional life and limiting beliefs as not feeling worthy or good enough kept Cindy in a vicious circle for a long time. It made her feel anxious about fully being herself and what her mission in life would be. As a teenager, she struggled with an eating disorder, and later on, she experienced many toxic situations that made her feel hopeless, vulnerable, and doubting herself.   She is grateful today as she managed to break unhealthy patterns by strengthening her mindset, working with her inner child to release pain and trauma, and setting clear boundaries for toxic behavior. Now she helps her clients with first-hand experience, as she knows that everything is possible as long as there’s willpower and belief that change is possible. She can go all the way when she does something that she is committed to or passionate about.
