Sonia Skewes

Trauma-Responsive Integrative Therapist

Sonia Skewes is a Trauma-Responsive Integrative Therapist and Accredited Social Worker based in Tasmania, Australia. Shaped by lived experiences of early money trauma, grief, and supporting family members living with mental illness, Sonia’s journey into the healing professions has been deeply personal. Leaving school at sixteen to become a hairdresser, she learned early the art of connection, empathy, and listening beneath the surface — skills that now infuse her therapeutic work with warmth and authenticity.

Sonia integrates Relational Integrative EMDR, Brainspotting, the Trauma of Money Method ™️ and Root Cause Therapy with creative, somatic, and mindfulness-based practices to help women release inherited emotional patterns, regulate their nervous systems, and reclaim calm, clarity, and confidence in both life and business. Her work bridges the science of trauma recovery with the art of self-expression, empowering clients to move beyond survival and reconnect with their authentic sense of safety, worth, and possibility.

Drawing on more than two decades of lived and professional experience across mental health, trauma recovery, and social work, Sonia’s approach is both relational and evidence-informed, grounded in compassion, integrity, and curiosity. She is known for creating safe-enough, responsive spaces for deep healing — where the nervous system, emotions, and inner narratives are gently held and re-patterned through presence, creativity, and attunement.

Through her private practice, Sonia offers individual therapy, destination retreats, group programs, and educational resources that invite transformation without overwhelm. Her mission is to help others break cycles of inherited stress and trauma, reconnect with their own wisdom, and live from a grounded sense of wholeness.
