  • Amber Soiland, Nurse Educator & Public Advocate, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Amber’s journey in healthcare began in 2006 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where she quickly developed a deep passion for patient care. She advanced her career by becoming an LVN and then an RN, continuously striving for excellence. Now enrolled in a Doctorate of Nursing program, she is dedicated to driving meaningful change in the healthcare system. She spent the first four years of her nursing career in postpartum care, supporting new mothers and newborns during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. While she loved the connection with patients and families, she felt drawn to a faster-paced, high-stakes environment. This led her to transition to emergency nursing, where she spent the next six years and fell in love with critical care, trauma response, and life-saving interventions. Amber lives in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County, California, with her husband and their five children. Her personal experiences have shaped her advocacy—losing her brother-in-law to suicide and battling her own struggles with mental health and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome have fueled her mission to improve patient care, increase access to harm reduction resources, and challenge systemic flaws in healthcare. As the owner of The RTI, she teaches critical care, mock codes, and national certifications, working to bridge gaps in education and emergency preparedness. Passionate about Narcan distribution, harm reduction, and saving lives, Amber also uses social media to make complex medical topics accessible to a wider audience. When she’s not teaching or advocating for change, she finds balance in vinyasa yoga and cooking, embracing both the intensity of emergency medicine and the need for self-care. • Maria Young, Beauty Salon Owner, Beauty Course Creator , Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

I started my business back when I left college in 2009! I got insurance right away to do mobile treatments and I created a kit and got a couch and would go to people at home providing all beauty and massage treatments. While doing this and building a reputation and clientele I also registered with a spa cover company, so I could help provide cover for different spas in the local areas. I also had a part time job with Clarins on the counter as a skin care specialist straight from college, so I did 2 days a week on counter. This was amazing because it gave me amazing experience plus exclusive training in London, whilst I was also building up my own business in the local area. I was learning so much while building my reputation and business. After Clarins I went on to a part time job in a spa hotel. So I did regular part time hours there while still doing my mobile beauty and massage. This gave me a great amount of experience and new skills, and it also showed me that a golf hotel with a salon could cater for not only the guests but also locals too. We had a lot of regulars that came in for treatments AND guests wanting a pamper. After being mobile for a while I was approached by a local business owner who had a nail salon with a room to rent. She asked if I would like to set up and work from there. I jumped at the opportunity to have my own treatment room, it was a great success and my reputation kept building and building. For a while I did mobile, and spa work AND the treatments in the salon. I worked 7 days a week most weeks for a long time to build it all up. Until eventually my own business was busy enough to let go of the part time job and focus just on my own business and growing it even more. After a year we moved to a larger shop so I took on another room, and I took on another therapist. We got very busy and it was fabulous. I won multiple awards at the local business awards and got recognised for my hard work a lot. I got young business person of the year and health and beauty business of the year, plus many more! I even got asked to sponsor and present awards after multiple years of winning awards! It was a pleasure! And a very special time for me seeing as I had said to my mum years before that I wanted to win an award at that event when I saw it in the paper! Over the years of being in the salon I actually spent a lot of time contacting the local golf hotel. I would email and call them almost daily for YEARS. Until eventually the managers agreed to a meeting with me! I explained to them the potential of having a salon within the hotel and how much it could bring to their site. I wanted it so bad and just knew it would work so well especially after working at The Spa Hotel! It took a lot of time and many meetings and pestering them via email and calls and random visits… but eventually they saw my passion and drive and determination… and let my dream come true. They gave me a section of the hotel to have my own salon! They let me design it and build the rooms so we had a reception area and 4 treatment rooms, so I took on another therapist. We won more awards and got even busier. I then after the first year extended the salon to provide 3 more treatment rooms and took on more staff! Every year it would grow just a little bit more. So it is now a salon with 7 treatment rooms and reception area. I called the salon THE SERENITY SUITE. I have had the salon there for 12 years! A couple years after that a local holiday site approached me to help them with their spa salon so I ended up taking that on for a year or so and redesigning it, creating gorgeous treatments, training staff and creating a lovely space for pampering. In my time of having the salons and employing staff I have noticed a serious gap between girls leaving college and then being super ready and confident to provide the treatments in salon. So I have spent a lot of time with new employees, especially the girls straight from college training them and perfecting their skills. I even got accreditation and created material and lessons in salon so I could teach one of my part time therapists her entire level 2 beauty qual! It was hard work but I am so glad I did it because the level she is at already is incredibly far beyond that of a girl straight from college and I am so proud of her. Using the materials and perfecting techniques we went through I decided to put online courses together and do more with the training side. I trademarked the word PAMPERFECTION and created PAMPERFECTION BEAUTY COURSES. I have worked with Gloucester College over the last few years. I have visited the classes as a guest speaker to inspire the girls, but also promoted and taught some of them my courses which I have seen give them much more confidence! So much so that I have taken them on as part of my team multiple times, and they fit in so well and work so professionally because they complete my therapist perfection training. But all of the above of course has only been achievable because of my insane amount of passion and drive for what I do! I love it and I love helping people to feel good as well as helping budding therapists to feel even better at what they do. • Sonia Azizian, Speaker, Founder & Permission Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Sonia Azizian is a speaker, entrepreneur, transformation strategist, and Permission Coach. She is the founder of SoniaSpeaks, Create Your Way, and Land to Legacy, and the creator of WOW (World of Wayfinders) and Live the Life You Imagine: 8 Weeks to Infinite Possibilities. With more than 30 years of experience in entrepreneurship and real estate, Sonia has built her career around helping people recognize possibilities, challenge limiting beliefs, and create lives that are intentional, meaningful, and uniquely their own. Sonia earned a BA in Economics and Asian American Studies from UCLA, bringing an analytical and entrepreneurial foundation to her work in real estate, wealth creation, and personal transformation.   A #1 bestselling co-author with Lisa Nichols of Unbreakable Spirit: Rising Above the Impossible and lifelong student of personal transformation, Sonia draws from Buddhist principles, science, and lived experience in her approach to growth and possibility. Her work is shaped by decades of Buddhist practice, including the principle of honninmyo—the understanding that while we cannot change the past, we can choose our actions and create a new direction from this moment forward. She sees personal transformation as an inner, human revolution that becomes most powerful when faith, practical strategy, and action are in alignment. Her Live the Life You Imagine program describes this approach as rooted in Buddhist principles, supported by science, and shaped by lived experience.   Through SoniaSpeaks, Sonia brings these ideas to audiences through speaking, workshops, conversations, and transformational experiences. As a Permission Coach, she helps people give themselves permission to honor their truth, rethink what they believe is possible, and move from living by default to living by design.   Through Create Your Way, Sonia developed Live the Life You Imagine: 8 Weeks to Infinite Possibilities, an eight-week transformational program designed to help people reconnect with their inner knowing, examine the thoughts and beliefs shaping their reality, and take aligned action without becoming attached to a specific outcome. The program reflects Sonia's belief that people are not broken or behind—they simply need the clarity, confidence, and permission to create differently. Being in alignment with their higher selves can manifest their wildest dreams.   Sonia is also the creator of WOW (World of Wayfinders), a community designed for people who want ongoing support, coaching, connection, and practical tools as they consciously create their lives.   An emerging theme across Sonia's work is her "2 But Not 2" philosophy, which challenges either/or thinking and explores what becomes possible when seemingly opposing truths can coexist. This philosophy shows up in her writing, speaking, coaching, and upcoming book, Being BI.   Sonia's work also extends into wealth creation through Land to Legacy, where she draws on her decades of real estate experience to educate others about long-term wealth creation through land banking and thinking differently about financial possibility.   Whether she is speaking about personal transformation, leadership, reinvention, identity, possibility, or wealth creation, Sonia's message is ultimately the same: you don't have to choose between who you are and who you want to become. You are born to be happy, and you can always Create Your Way. • Angelica Lodge, Family Nurse Practitioner, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Blended Wellness was born from both my personal journey and the countless patients I have had the privilege of caring for throughout my career. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, I was trained in the traditional model of healthcare. While that foundation is invaluable, I began to recognize a gap in the way healthcare was often delivered. Too frequently, treatment focused on managing symptoms rather than understanding the underlying factors contributing to disease. This realization ignited a passion within me to look deeper. My mission is to pursue a more comprehensive, root cause approach to healing the heart, body, and mind. I believe illness can arise when there is an imbalance within any aspect of our well-being. Over the years, I have witnessed how the demands of modern healthcare can sometimes limit the time needed to fully evaluate a person and their story. That transformed not only the way I practice medicine, but also the type of experience I envisioned for my patients. Blended Wellness was founded on the belief that healing happens through partnership and trust. My goal is to equip every patient with the knowledge, tools, and ongoing support they need to take an active role in their health, while also knowing they have a compassionate partner who is dedicated to walking alongside them every step of the way. Patients deserve intentional care and that is what they receive at Blended Wellness. My mission is to educate and empower patients through evidence-based medicine while addressing the pillars of health. Lasting wellness is built by understanding the interconnectedness of the body, including gut-brain axis, metabolic health, hormone balance, immune function, nutrition, sleep, movement, and emotional well-being. I firmly believe that when patients understand the why behind their health, they become empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes that optimize their life. Longevity is not a new concept, however it has become one of the fastest growing areas of wellness as more individuals seek proactive, personalized approaches to aging well. Patients deserve access to the latest advancements in regenerative and longevity medicine, including stem cell, exosomes, and peptide therapy. These innovative treatments harness the body's innate ability to repair, regenerate, and restore function at the cellular level. At Blended Wellness, every treatment is thoughtfully planned in order to enhance longevity and achieve patients' unique wellness goals.
