Your Net Worth Does Not Represent Your Self-Worth

As a hypnotherapist and an entrepreneur, I see how many women entrepreneurs connect their self-worth with their net worth. In the coaching industry today, it's often said that you need to feel worthy first to achieve what you want. This concept can be a real killer of self-worth.

Even if you start your business with a good sense of inner worth, over time, you might begin to question it. It's natural for the mind to find reasons why you might not achieve a certain income, and often, you’ll conclude that the issue lies in your self-worth. This doubt can lead you to believe that you need to dig deeper and work on your self-belief.

The myth of self-worth and net worth connection

From my experience working with many successful clients and from studying the mind, I know that this connection is not true. High-achieving, successful entrepreneurs and even famous people illustrate that your net worth does not represent your self-worth, and vice versa. Your value as an individual doesn't influence how much money you'll make. You can have one penny in your pocket and still feel immensely worthy. Conversely, you can have millions and still feel utterly miserable.

Understanding the distinction

In today's fast-paced, financially driven world, it's easy to conflate net worth with self-worth. However, your value as a person is not dictated by the figures in your bank account.

Understanding this distinction is crucial for cultivating a healthy relationship with yourself and the world around you. Your self-worth doesn't directly affect your income. However, it profoundly impacts your relationship with yourself and shapes how you interact with the external world. It acts as a lens through which you perceive your surroundings.

The impact of self-worth on life perception

A solid sense of self-worth can paint a world of abundance and prosperity, while fragile self-esteem might focus only on constant lack, even when you have millions. When your

self-esteem is solid, you have a good foundation to create a prosperous life. You don't wobble. You don't lose focus. You don't work more to have more. You don't try to prove your worth by doing more. You are enough by simply being yourself. You are enough to have more than enough.

Redefining success and prosperity

You are not defined by your bank account. You're not defined by how much money you make in your business. Nor does it define your success. Paying clients do not define your worth. You define what prosperity means to you. It could be the sun on your face, a cup of tea with a good friend, a small talk with a stranger, good health, one client in your group program, or a warm hug from your partner. It's the small steps, day by day, one small shift in your vision.

Imagining self-worth before financial success

Feeling prosperous can range from one penny to millions, from one kiss to thousands, from one client to a thousand. You define your worth. Everything starts within you. But can you imagine having this sense of self-worth and prosperity before you even achieve your next income goal? How would it feel when you achieve it? Would you feel that something is still missing, that it’s not good enough? Or would you enjoy and be so grateful for experiencing this dream, this goal, this life?

Strengthening inner power and belief

This is what I help my clients with in my 1:1 sessions, where we strengthen their inner power, inner sense of self-worth, self-trust, and self-belief. By feeling already prosperous and worthy, they become confident in achieving their goals, visions, and success. This approach brings them immense joy and gratitude for being who they are by building their vision.

Embrace self-worth for true prosperity

In conclusion, shifting your focus from net worth to self-worth can transform your life. Embrace the small moments of joy, the daily affirmations of your value, and understand that true prosperity starts from within. Define your worth on your terms, and watch as your life aligns with a deeper sense of abundance and fulfillment.
