A few years ago, I served on jury duty, and what struck me the most wasn’t the case itself but the attorneys. They were nothing like the confident, persuasive characters we see on television. What I saw instead were lawyers who visibly struggled with nerves, fumbled over their words, and lacked the kind of presence that inspires trust in a courtroom.

That’s when it hit me: even attorneys who have passed the bar and practiced law still wrestle with mindset challenges that sabotage their performance. For bar exam takers, those same mental blocks can be the very thing standing between them and the legal career they’ve spent years working toward.


I’m Joy Cheriel Brown, and I believe everyone deserves to have their dream life. That includes becoming the attorney you’ve always envisioned, not just on paper, but in practice. That’s why I help law students, retakers, and practicing attorneys overcome the subconscious blocks that keep them stuck, using a powerful tool called Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT).


RTT was developed by Marisa Peer, Britain’s leading hypnotherapist, and it’s designed to quickly uncover and shift the deep-rooted beliefs that interfere with performance, confidence, and clarity. Unlike traditional therapy, RTT typically works in just one 90-120 minute session. You get to the root of the issue fast, and we create a personalized audio recording that you’ll listen to for 21 days to reinforce the transformation.


In a session, I will guide the client into a deeply relaxed state and regress them back to a scene in their life that created the limiting belief or mental block preventing them from passing the exam or showing up with confidence in the courtroom. Often, these beliefs were formed in childhood or during formative academic experiences, and once we identify them, we can reframe the limiting belief and subconscious block and create a new, empowering belief system.


Many bright, capable law students don’t pass the bar, not because they don’t know the law, but because they struggle with:


  • Test anxiety

  • Self-doubt

  • Burnout

  • Trauma from a previous failure
