Being on a spiritual quest is accompanied by many failed attempts to let go of things, relationships, statuses, and achievements that once defined us or that we once cherished. This is often followed by awkward moments of stillness, feelings of death and nothingness. Then you must gather all your energy and emerge as a new self.

A person praying on top of a mountain

“Dying” a hundred times in a single life, and yet still getting up for a new tomorrow

Well, this kind of sounds like a salmon run, doesn’t it? And if you ever had the chance to witness it, that kind of says it all. Like salmon swimming upstream against all odds, we too must push through resistance to reach the source of our transformation.

The healing we achieve through a spiritual quest does not liberate only the person who does the work

Many life challenges come from what we inherit through an ancestral lineage. And unfortunately (trust me, I tried), an infinite number of coaching sessions, leadership training, or communication workshops will not heal those roots. These patterns repeat until they find that one person who is strong and present enough to do the hard work of “looking the dragon in the eye” (the trauma) and saying, “This no longer defines me.”

When that happens, things we can’t even imagine begin to shift and change on a multidimensional level, across time and space. If we remember how quickly and widely a disease like COVID spread, imagine the ripple effect when trapped energy is released. The benefits can be felt at a collective and community level.

While healing, help is infinite, you must have enough wonder in your heart and in your eyes to see it and receive it

When I showed up with the intent to heal and took responsibility for my process, I was struck again and again by how “someone up or out there” showed me how loved I am, through symbolic dreams, a simple kind word or gesture from a stranger, or an image or phrase popping up on what I jokingly call “sacred Facebook.”

When the universe “recognizes” you as a potential hero (a candidate for healing)

When you become the “lucky winner” in this cosmic lottery, you’re gifted a series of repeated initiations, each arriving in different shapes and forms, until the lesson finally lands. At some point, you may find yourself thinking, “I’ve been here before.” That’s when the truth becomes clear, the only way out is through.

With these final words of encouragement, what do you think? Are you ready to become the true hero of your own story? If yes, I invite you to connect with me to begin what I lovingly call, "A Hero’s Journey Discovery Session".
