It's time to move away from the one-size-fits-all approach to fitness and wellness and embrace personalized strategies that cater to the unique needs of each individual.

As a Certified Wholistic Personal Trainer for more than four decades and a Medical Astrologer for over five years, it has come to my attention that many women follow fitness fads, hoping to get strong and fit. Their results usually leave them feeling tired, over-trained, or discouraged. As more women are awakening to their metaphysical gifts as empaths, intuitives, and highly sensitive individuals who are attuned to their bodies, the one-size-fits-all approach is a thing of the past.

When working with clients, I take into account their Astrological Makeup, which gives me in-depth information about the client as a whole person, not just their physical body. I recommend looking at the three major zodiac signs associated with the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant, and also considering the planet that rules the Ascendant sign.

For example, I have the Sun in Pisces (Water), the Moon in Aquarius (Air), and my Ascendant in Cancer (Water). My Ascendant sign is ruled by the Moon; therefore, most of what I do in my day is impacted by my feelings, since the Moon is related to self-expression and emotions.

The sixth house placement and the zodiac sign associated with that placement on your natal chart provide insight into all your health, fitness, nutrition, and wellness needs. This placement represents your routine, schedule, organization, planning, service (self-care), and problem-solving abilities.

Below are the meanings for the twelve houses

  1. Aries: Aries are strong, powerful, and have a lot of energy due to their fire element and Mars. Compound exercises that involve large muscles are suggested, such as bench press, overhead press, and squats, applying the P.O.S.T. Method (progressive overload strength training). It is also important to avoid energy drinks or too much caffeine. Eat slowly.

  2. Taurus values stability and grounding. Sticking with a consistent workout routine is key. Incorporating dumbbells during the workout allows you to take the workout outside. Plan on eating foods that are as close to natural as possible, such as a plate-based diet.

  3. Gemini's need to mix things up, change the order of the exercises, and enjoy small talk during their workout. Fruits, veggies, meats, beef, and eggs are your go-to foods, and top it off with good music to enjoy a great meal.

  4. Cancer's enjoy workouts they can do at home, so dumbbells are best. Having a home-cooked, high-protein meal warms the heart.

  5. Leo's need to mix things up, whether it's changing the order of the exercises or going to a different gym, and make sure the music is pumping. Avoid fatty foods and eat foods rich in iron, such as spinach, raisins, and dates.

  6. Virgo's need organization; keeping the workout plan is key, and working out at the same time is perfect. Meal planning is a must.

  7. Libra – Being an air sign, you often overthink everything, and that includes your workout and food plan. Putting together a total-body workout is key to keeping a well-balanced program, in addition to creating meals that include both your favorite and healthy foods; this keeps you on track with your goals.

  8. Scorpio – You thrive on intensity and enjoy a good challenge. Mixing up your routine with strength training, boxing, and martial arts leads to success. Focus on high-protein, healthy fats, and grains, and don't leave out the veggies.

  9. Sagittarius – With your fiery energy, an explosive workout is your thing, especially when in a different environment. You prefer a different gym for each body part. Strength training, boxing, and mountain climbing are your thing. You even enjoy the spotlight of getting on stage and showing your progress off. You tend to enjoy spicy dishes and foods rich in protein.

  10. Capricorn – An earth sign, you prefer your workouts outdoors, so free weights it is, and hiking is also your thing. Capricorns are drawn to foods that provide lasting energy, such as root vegetables, beans, and lean proteins.

  11. Aquarius – As unique as you are, you enjoy your community; therefore, group fitness is your thing, or being the center of attention in the weight room. When it comes to food, you enjoy your plant-based diet.

  12. Pisces – Blending movement and mindfulness into a workout, such as strength training and yoga, are keys to a great workout. Keep a leaner diet focused on lean proteins, fish, veggies, sweet potatoes, and brown rice, and avoid pasta when possible.
