Ever hit a brick wall and felt stuck and unable to make progress?

Going round in circles and feeling overwhelmed, drained, undervalued, and stuck. You want to bury your head in the sand as you can’t see a way forward.

But you keep going, and the feeling keeps dragging you down. Once down, it can be challenging to see a solution.

People around you keep giving their advice, saying get motivated, get it together or talk it through.

When we feel like the last thing most of us want to do is talk, and as for motivation, that can last 2 seconds!

But there is a way…

The Solution

1. First, identify what the issues are and what are the triggers. Notice where the thoughts come from.

Is your inner voice being realistic?

Is it tiredness or a feeling of overwhelm talking? Is someone or something else creeping in?

Notice how you feel about these thoughts.

What emotions come up for you?

How has your energy changed?

Write down those feelings and thoughts, then go back over them and next to each statement, write true, false or don’t know. Have an awareness of what you notice and the energy shift.

2. Then, the one thing that we are resistant to do, is stop and take time out. Our mind talk kicks in. I can’t take time off as this needs sorting.

But ask yourself, are you being productive by showing up every day feeling like the world is on top of you?

It will then have a domino effect and affect you further and those around you.

This then causes more frustration.

I have learnt the hard way that not taking time out makes things feel worse and more intense. So please take time out.

3. Reframe the situation: See a problem/challenge that cannot be changed in a new way.

4. Change ‒ a vital step if something isn’t working change it. Nothing changes until you do.

You control the changes you make. We cannot control what happens to us sometimes, but we can control how we respond and change.

5. Finally, trust in yourself that by owning your thoughts and behaviours and by analysing doubts or concerns, you can minimise experiences of hitting a wall. New habits help you transform patterns.
