Transform Limiting Beliefs Through The Power Of EFT Tapping And Desired Outcome Visualization

We often refer to coming out of a difficult time in our lives as climbing a hill or facing an upward battle. And there is a reason for that.

We must take conscious positive (upwards) action to remove ourselves from the things that were dragging us down. This is hard enough to accomplish on its own, but even more so when we have limiting beliefs that we keep telling ourselves, making the climb seem not only difficult, but something we aren’t even capable of.


In my life and my EFT practice, I have found some tools to help make this easier. I’d like to spend some time introducing the concept of Desired Outcome Visualization: the third and final ingredient in my “Special Sauce” approach to taking back your life and healing your inner child through EFT Tapping.


Introduction to limiting beliefs and their causes


Limiting beliefs are opinions about our lives or ourselves that keep us from achieving our goals. These usually start from the false notions we keep repeating to ourselves again and again until we completely start believing that the statement is true about ourselves.


Commonly limiting beliefs are caused by our personal experiences or trauma. However, sometimes, these can also be the viewpoint of others about us. These are also rooted in the condition of our society or families at times.


Generally, limiting beliefs can be caused by various things. Some of these things include:

  • Negative experiences during childhood, such as criticism, rejection, or failure, and can shape our beliefs about ourselves and the world. About 95% of our struggles today come from our childhood trauma.

  • Societal norms, family beliefs, and cultural influences can imprint limiting beliefs onto us.

  • Traumatic events can create deep-seated fears and beliefs that persist into adulthood.

  • Continuous self-criticism and negative self-talk reinforce limiting beliefs over time.

Identify limiting beliefs


Before starting to overcome your limiting beliefs, you must understand that the first step here is to identify them. Common limiting beliefs examples include:

  • I'm not good enough

  • I don't deserve success

  • I'll never be happy.

These beliefs are often in our subconscious, and can act like a brick wall, keeping us from progressing and affecting our efforts to achieve our life goals. The process of identifying your limiting beliefs may take a while. It’s important that we all take time for introspection. Ask yourself questions like:

  • What beliefs have held me back in life?

  • What negative thoughts regularly come to my mind?

  • When did I first start believing these thoughts?

Identifying your limiting beliefs and keeping a journal can help you recognize recurring thought patterns and their impact on your life. You can also use this journal to transform your mindset.


Understanding EFT Tapping for transforming limiting beliefs


Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Tapping is a powerful and holistic therapeutic technique. It combines psychology, acupressure, and energy medicine with positive affirmations to a positive mindset shift.


The EFT Technique involves Tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on the negative belief, emotion, or physical symptom. It works on the principle that emotional and physical issues in our bodies are connected to disruptions in our energy system.


However, the flow of energy can be restored, and negative emotions are released by Tapping on certain points.


The EFT Tapping technique for transforming limiting beliefs is based on multiple steps. Consulting a certified EFT practitioner can certainly help you learn these steps and get rid of limiting beliefs effectively.


EFT's role in manifesting and releasing limiting beliefs through desired outcome visualization


EFT Tapping has become a clinically proven technique for people to transform their limiting beliefs.

  • This is where I combine Tapping with Desired Outcome Visualization. It’s important to be able to imagine yourself free from the limiting belief and look forward to your desired outcome. This practice will ultimately reinforce a positive change on both conscious and subconscious levels.

  • Tapping and Visualization can also help you align your emotions with your desires. When your emotions are aligned with your goals, it will become more effortless to manifest only positive things in life.

Even though you can practice the EFT Tapping technique for limiting beliefs independently, things can be very challenging if you are new to this technique.


Ultimately you want to embark on a healing journey that will clear your emotional blockages, resolve past experiences, and move you forward to the life you’ve always desired.
