Personal growth doesn’t have to be this complicated difficult thing of digging into your past and resolving traumas and searching for limiting beliefs to resolve. Personal growth also doesn’t have to take a lot of time and effort like most people think. Personal growth can be as simple as flowing with life.

When we flow with life, we’re continuously moving forward towards our vision and dream. Personal growth is part of that process, because as we move closer to our vision, we shed old limiting perceptions that no longer serve us and where we’re headed.

Here’s where the personal growth and spiritual healing world got it wrong though — when things come up to be “healed”, in other words, when we get triggered, it’s not about digging into our past to find the root cause or identifying the limiting belief and releasing it. It’s about allowing.

Allowing is the most natural thing in the universe. When a river flows, it always flows down the path of least resistance. Change is part of nature. The leaves turn brown, the seasons change. Every aspect of nature has a flow to it. That is part of allowing. When we allow the difficult emotions, we tap into that natural flow. If instead when we’re triggered, we dive deep into trying to resolve the core trauma, we are no longer in a state of allowing but in a state of trying to solve something.

The key to effortless growth is to allow what’s coming up to be felt, to allow the triggered emotions to be there without needing to solve or judge. As you’re in this place of allowing, continue on your path forward towards your vision. Eventually, you’ll be so far along towards your vision that the deeper layers of whatever’s at the core of your triggers will come to the surface and be resolved effortlessly simply because they’re no longer a match to who you’re becoming.

These deeper layers could have never been found and truly resolved by digging into your past and trying to solve it that way. Practically, this translates to things like not feeling good enough, or blocking your own success, or not being able to receive. They can only be resolved when they’re ready to be resolved, and they can only be ready to be resolved because you’re continuously taking action towards your vision.

Eventually, these things will resolve themselves in the right time once you’ve gotten to a certain point in your progress towards your vision. This only works, though, if you’re in a state of allowing and not resisting or judging the triggers and emotions.

Let’s say for example you want to start your own business or want to become a coach, or maybe you’re already a coach or becoming one, you know that there are fears stopping you from feeling totally confident in showing up and selling. Rather than deep diving into those fears trying to solve them, instead, be in a state of allowing. Acknowledge those fears, let it be okay that they’re there, and then continue to take action because you’re determined to achieve your vision. As you flow and cooperate with life this way, you open up to receiving insights and shifts in perspective about the fear. Maybe you hear or read something that sparks a realization or maybe you get an insight while you’re in the shower, driving or cooking. The shifts in perspectives will come, and when they do, allow the emotions associated with the old perspective to come up, be felt, and processed. Then voila, the fear is gone.

This is how effortless personal growth can be. The only part that makes it seem difficult or that it takes a lot of effort is the way you’ve been going about it that creates a block to the natural flow of allowing. By setting your focus and intention on what you do want to experience and create in your life, you continue the flow forward in that direction, and as a result, anything within you that doesn’t match that will come up to be shifted.
